Yeah but Deva path is nagato's main fighting path, there's a reason why he chose to use Yahiko's body for the deva path and none of the other paths, It's the hardest one to kill and destroy, so Yahiko's body was kept safest, Nagato also uses it as his main interfacing body, It could most like solo the other four paths, the only reason naruto beat it was because of the nine tails

He would beat Sasori,Hidan and Zetsu with some ease,and probably Konan. I doubt he could beat the others.

Despite Itachi stating that the best that he and Kisame COMBINED could do vs Jiraiya is a tie, and Kisame stating Jiraiya was on a completely different level?
The only 2 people in Akatsuki that can defeat Jiraiya are Pain and Tobi. I'm iffy on both of those though, Pain because of the statement he made, and Tobi just because we don't know what exactly he can do.
I'm not arguing anything. I'm just basing off of what Pain himself said. Who knows.
Pain, Itachi, Tobi - against them Jiraiya dont stand a chance.
Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu, Kisame - he would be able to win, but with some serious difficulties.
Konan, Hidan, Zetsu - Jiraiya would win with relatively easy difficulty.

Kisame himself stated Jiraiya's in a different league, and Itachi said the best that could be done is tying/both dying. Not sure where you're getting this from.
Not to mention, Jiraiya was more than confident that he could kill them. And I don't even think Itachi/Kisame knew of his sage mode. I don't even want to imagine how badly Itachi/Kisame think they'd get raped by that, if normal Jiraiya is that imposing towards them.

Itachi never wanted to kill Jiraiya, he was Konohas good boy afterall. When you compare their abilities, you will see that Jiraiya dont stand a chance against Itachi. Jiraiya struggled to activate SM while figting Animal path alone, which battle capacity is vastly inferior to that of Itachi. Even in SM Jiraiya is not fast enough to escape Sharingans eyesight, which means that Amaterasu is deadly for him. Moreover, Itachi with his Sharingan can just take control over one of elder frogs on Jiraiyas arms and make them to decapitate old pervy.
Oro was also confident, and look what happened to poor guy. Itachi is just one of guys who surpassed Sannins level.
