The other guy made a valid point; Itachi would not hav resorted to Amaterasu if he had another alternative. Moreover Saucegay's an idiot compared to intelligent fighters like Itachi, Minato, Shikamaru etc. He wouldnt exactly last very long against Jiraiya.
Dont go overboard with the Uchiha fanboyism. They're pretty useless without the Sharingan. Uchiha are NOTHING, I really mean NOTHING, without the Sharingan. Their ability to read movements, execute incredibly powerful jutsus are all taken away from them without it. :sy:

At the highlighted part, that doesnt even amount to speculation. There could be many reasons why he chose amaterasu. Sasuke has already shown us a technique that can cut clean through a tailed beasts tentacles which is meat. If logic dictates, then its fair to say he can do the same with the frog's stomach which is also meat or am i missing something?.
You say sasuke is an idiot?, he has shown genius feats in all his fights and in fact more than jiraiya has. At the jibe you aimed at the uchiha, im not sure if thats aimed at me or not. Kishi destributed abilities to everyone, logic says if he didnt give the sharigan to an uchiha he wouldve given another power to them or are playing the rule of kishi?. Needless to say itachi graduated from the academy top of his class before he activated his sharigan. His prowess in genjutsu is so elite that he can cast it by pointing his finger. If you add his intelligence, speed, weapon usage, genjutsu and taijutsu, he is still a formidable opponent regardless.
Similarly sasuke graduated top before he activated the sharigan, he also was hailed a genius before the sharigan. If you add his intelligence, taijutsu, mastery of katon and raiton based ninjutsu and weapon usage, he is no pushover neither.
Nobody is underestimating a sannin, i judge based on techniques shown in the manga and from that pre ms sasuke can indeed beat base jiraiya. Majority of the arguments for jiraiya is either hype just like your self or retarded logic.
Anyway from the techniques shown, by jiraiya in base tell me how he beats pre ms sasuke
