The thing is Jiraiya is dead, Pain checked his pulses and with the rinnegan he cant be fooled to easily with a clone. What I think is Jiraiya was collection information while pain was busy fighting him, that was his main target from the first, the pa toad said that. while fighting he figured out who pain really was and his major secret, but it was already too late, he died by then, he managed to left the message to naruto.

This theory revealed a lot, I didnt realise the clone before.

I think that Jiraiya actually just used the toad conversion jutsu to capture the first rain ninja for interrogation and the second one the one with the big scarf was affected by J-man's Toad silhouette control jutsu. The scarved ninja ran off after J-ma's jutsu ended when Konan showed up.

i hope its true, but very good theory, u should of said wen pein comes to konoha and fight naruto jiraiya comes out and rescue ^^

yea something like that. but if j-man is alive and he shows up when naruto fighting pein he wouldnt get involved he would leave it to naruto

yea or maybe they will fight together in order to beat pein? cuz i remember deres a move where they use rasengan togther and form it as DOuble rasengan similair to odama rasengan in the Ultimate ninja 3 ps2 game, or maybe he'll fight konan :]
