For those who don`t think so remember that guy too 3 of Pain`s bodies without knowing zip about him.. Did the miracle of explaining tough concepts to NARUTO, AMD TAUGHT HIM THE BEAUTY OF USING STRATEGY IN BATTLE.

To Pain, it seems all that basic training was enough for him to exploit allthe potential, just as important as Kakashi was for Sasuke and the others. For hard headed guys, along with Kakashi the best Sensei, and I do agree one of the most powerful shinobis.

He definitely might have been able to defeat ItaChi, and I believe Kisame wan`t that unbeatyable at all, with J man`s brains could have given a surprise. The man, J, is like a ORO,A library of jutsus, DON`T UNDERESTIMate him

I agree with the fact that Jiraiya is strong, and he is a good teacher.
But you gotta remember that Naruto is that strong because of his sage mode. Which he didn't like "learn" from Jiraiya. Jiraiya taught Nagato basic stuff.
He still "fully" trained Minato, which is, ofcourse, one of the best ninjas in the Naruto universe...

So far the nr1 place still belongs to Pain imo. 1on1 I don't think anyone - even Minato xd - can beat him.

I just finished rereading the naruto v.s. pain fight and i thought the same thing. If KB didnt come out pain wouldnt have used all his charka. Question. What do you think about Pain v.s Itachi?

He trained Naruto, Minato, and Nagato which, if arent the 3 top shinobi in the narutoverse, then they definitly rank in the top 5. I do understand that students will sometimes surpass their sensei's but that must make Jiraiya one hell of a sensei to train 3 of the strongest shinobi we've seen so far.

it was yes, nothing can stand a chance jiraiya sage mode one on one, not rinnegan, not sharinggan, naruto is sage too but don't have a lot of skill as jiraiya, but naruto will grow, and don't forget hashirama,
hashirama has a thousands of dangerous jutsu in his secret scrool,
maybe sage can't best that,
even kyuubi dan madara down,

Are you saying you think he's the strongest or are you simply pointing out some obvious facts. No disrespect but, what?

He taught some great students but they surpassed him. This doesn't make him the strongest, in fact, it makes him weaker than all three. :shrug:

Jiraiya is a very underrated character. Especially in a forum where people consider Itachi one of the best 3 ninjas in narutoverse. I'd like to remind you the fact that Itachi & Kisame together were afraid to surprise attack to a lonely Jiraiya and Itachi admitted Jiraiya would kill both of them on the spot. And Kisame too said he was no match for Jiraiya and that he was on a whole different level.

The fact that Nagato beat Jiraiya and (edo) Itachi beat (edo) Nagato does not necessarily make Jiraiya inferior to both of them. Think of it like a paper rock scissors situation and Jiraiya had a huge information disadvantage when fighting Nagato.

IDK why Jiraiya didn't bring them back to the village. Kabuto is an orphan from another village. The leaf would have had the rinnegan along with a bunch if Sharingans.

Jiraiya is the man he trained 2 hokages. I think Jiraiya's last gift to Naruto was sage mode. His message to Naruto meaning he wanted him to defeat him. Meaning he wanted pa to make Naruto the next sage. Jiraiya himself is boss. I think with sage mode there are limited people that can face him one on one. He can most definitely take on the Raikage. Currently the strongest kage.
