i ussually dont agree with you because you undermine itachi in almost all you threads but this is an expection i agree, though i think they are on the same level i think itachi is little stronger, not much but enough to kill j-man on the brink of death.

so if i had to pick, itachi because amatarasu cnt be dodged by j-man who has imperfect sage mode which isnt as fast as kabuto dsm or naruto perfect sage mode but i think jiraiya could still fake it with a clone and possibly pass that obstacle. so for now j-man=itachi but imo itachi>jiraiya just barely though

It turns back any attack, it doesn't mean it changes shape. Its never been said once it changes shape. It changes its properties to deflect or negate an attack.

Jiraiya is underrated. Those who think Itachi can defeat him with mid to low difficulty are delusional. If anything... he takes it with high difficulty. But, because shit doesn't matter, and they are both dead, I'm going to say that Jiraiya > Itachi.

Note:

Dumb **** below is a prime example on why this debate is nothing but pointless. Obviously... he doesn't know the fact that Itachi using two or more MS techs would render him almost useless in battle. The only chance Itachi has is with Amaterasu, but even then... he would mots likely have to deal with Jiraiya's Summons, so it would be difficult for him to use it. I'm sure Itachi's Susano'o can provide him with a great deal of protection, but what's the point of using it if he can't hit Jiraiya's Summons? They are both agile and strong... Itachi won't be able to hit them... and maybe they can't break Susano'o, but all those frogs pounding his Susano'o from multiple directions... I mean, something has got to give.

Also, if Jiraiya is allowed to go into Sage Mode and he uses Magen: Gama Rinshō... then it's pretty much over for Itachi. Hmm... Counter for Tsukuyomi: don't look into his eyes. Obviously... it's over for Jiraiya if he's caught, but he's not dumb so as to look into Itachi's eyes.

Tell me how he'll get past Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu and Susano'o and them come back to me. A sick, blind Itachi could DESTROY him. Back then, Jiraiya was just being hyped up because of his status. Notice how Itachi and Kisame kept on saying "sannin, sannin". They were afraid of his hype, not him. When Itachi was running away from the toad mouth trap he could have turned around and one shotted him, but he never. So shhh. Itachi > Jiraiya.​

The attributes of the yata mirror are neutral, when fire style hits it, it changes it attributes to negate fire style. When water style hits it, it changes its properties to negate it. When taijutsu hits it, it changes its properties to negate it. It doesn't change form however. Yes it can block any attack, however that doesn't mean it changes its form.
