Who knows maybe he was save by some crazy unknown Jutsu that we're unaware of. Besides, remember the time when Naruto thought Konohamaru the rasengan, but the manga never really showed us Naruto teaching him it? Perhaps, it'll come in a flashback that Jiraiya manged to escape somehow. Will just have to wait and see .

I read the whole thing, and it was a nice try, but I don't think Kishimoto would have done all of that work and put it into Jiraiya's death. The science you explained probably wouldn't even apply in the narutoverse. They're ninjas who can make wood appear out of nowhere, or send people into other dimensions. He's dead, and we're all sad, but he's not coming back.

However it will not be due to how much he ate and the temperature in the water making him float. Kishi wont spend two chapters trying to explain such a farfetched thing.
