Edo tensei to rigged lol , and yea I agree on the genjutsu part other than that I don't know how Jiraiya can win.

Jiraiya can't win without Sage Mode, he can only hold up against Orochimaru with difficulty. If he acquires SM if he fulfills the tough requirements for it, then he can fight on par or maybe overpower him. Genjutsu is very dangerous, but takes a lot of time.

There's a reason Orochimaru waited until Jiraiya was outstide Konoha to attack the third Hokage. SM Jiraiya destroys Orochimaru.

I remember Orochimaru saying something about having needed to gather his forces to destroy Konoha. Keep in mind he wanted to destroy the whole village, not just kill Hiruzen. He needed am army in order to do so, hence the Sand and Sound teaming up.

Hashirama as well. And Orochimaru can reincarnate them at full force, whereas Hashirama can be a little nerfed in order for a better control.

Your right, Jiraiya knows how to escape/avoid Genjutsu. He learned this from the Great Toad Sage. And he himself has even more powerful Genjutsu with frog song soloing everyone within a miles radius.
