It's all the same dude do yourself a solid and read the different belief structures humans created and you will see the similarity on controlling the masses. As far as respecting other "beliefs" I'd rather not. Just like people choose to beleive in what they want I choose to not respect another belief structure. Everything is a choice which religion tries to control you in order for them to choose what they deem you should believe in or what choices you should make. No one really thinks for themselves

My parents are atheists and I've never been to a church in my life; yet I believe in a higher power through my own volition...so your argument is invalid.

So you'd rather try to destroy people's happiness when you yourself believes in something less thoughtful? Why don't go up to a child dying of cancer and tell him he's just going to cease to exist. You're such a brave soul.

I never mentioned anything about destroying lives? As for happiness people create that not anything else and if you choose to believe in a higher power so be it I'm not going to enforce anything upon you. As i mentioned earlier in the post i said you should look into the other structures. Just by looking into them does not mean you shouldn't. Human should read everything they can and become a student not a follower. You make up your own damn mind and decide what is best for you. As for the dying kid with cancer, yes i would tell him there is nothing to look forward to because that is the truth. It may hurt the kid but at the same time it might not. Knowing the truth is more powerful than knowing lies and when you finally get to the end of your line you will die more peacefully knowing what truth there is rather than being lied to. You know what even if i am wrong and there is some sort of higher presence i would still go up to them and say "F*ck you where you stand and F*ck everyone around you". That would be the only true choice i would have made on my own rather than being a follower and accepting such a flawed concept of deities. The world is cold and dark and heading to oblivion that much is known. Mankind has had its peace for too long we need a wake up call.
