Japanese vs English

In English they often sound too young - well in my opinion at least. Plus I just like to watch shows in their original language with subs of course And well, puns in Japanese are often not well translated in English which makes some situations loose some of the humour.
So yeah I prefer Japanese spoken for anime with either English or Dutch subtitles

I prefer Naruto to be subtitled, but I can think of a few anime that I prefer with English dubs.

I love the Japanese. Their voices, the expression makes the story so much funnier.

I think that is what I like too. Their voices have more expression, from what I can hear. But if they are voicing a character without emotion they also do a good job at sounding 'uninterested.' I think I just like their sound effects (sighing, breathing, eating) better.

OT: I prefer japanese voices, but there's always that anime that somehow seems better in english dub

The only anime that I can think of that sounds decent is InuYasha. But since Naruto, I have not watched that many animes in English.

In for example the names of characters, the accent falls wrong in english, it gives me the creeps xd.

Some anime I have only seen english dubs from and than it doesnt bother me that much, since I am used to it.
However in general Japanese>english, at least when it comes to anime.

That is what gets me the most, is when they try to pronounce the names in English. It doesn't roll of the tongue as well and it just sounds really unnatural.

Another thing that makes me unable to watch Naruto (part one) is because Sakura sounded like a really tiny little girl. Too young for the face that I was looking at. Not to mention how they had Naruto voiced by a female... Ugh....

It depends on how I started watching the anime. It's usually Japanese.

My first anime was InuYasha, with English subs and when I try watching the Japanese I find it more difficult to listen to. I think if I started off watching more anime in English then maybe I would get used to their voices, but I just don't. Probably because I am too antsy to wait for the English subs to come out.

I think making puns in English of Japanese puns is a bit easier than to create the same puns in my native tongue, so at least the English language is a bit easier. But yeah, some puns just can't be properly brought over in another language

Uh... If Naruto is also voiced by a female in Japanese then I had no clue. Also if it was a female, she is/did a damn good job at making Naruto sound like a boy/man. lol

ok so to put it this way ..... if English watch the dubbed version of course we will like it better ... if they watch it in japanese first then they will like it better.... it all depends on how familiar u get with the anime in one language

I am not so sure about that one. I first started out with reading the manga of Naruto. Then I found out the it just came out as an anime in English, so I TRIED to watch it. However the voices seemed so wrong that I could not stand to watch the anime. Then I discovered the internet and it's endless supply of Japanese anime. Then I tried watching Naruto again, this time in Japanese, and I loved it. I suppose all of this is just to the persons liking.

Sometimes the subtitles go too fast and I end up having to go back a few frames to see what the heck they were saying. In some ways it is worth it though.

I prefer the original japanese version but I do tend to enjoy making a joke out of the horrible voice acting and it tends to be quite amusing. But there is a couple of good voices, for example Sasuke's.
