Okay, so I'm learning Japanese & my teacher says that listening to some Japanese songs will help improve my vocabulary but I don't really have a first clue on any of them (apart from the ones that perform the openings & endings in Naruto + Naruto Shippuuden).

So can someone maybe suggest a Japanese song or an artist/band (preferably J - Rock)

Sure! I studied Japanese in HS too. Actually, I spent a semester there. So, it'd be cool to talk J-stuff.

Have you heard of Rimi Natsukawa? Her songs are good, and pretty easy to listen to the words.
