Look at the DBZ names. Ginyu Force are named after breakfast foods/condiments. I would check out the meaning of European names as well. Most of them aren't just names, but they have meanings (many Biblical names are derived from Jewish words) as well. Like what about Pearl or Luna? Cute names for girls, but they are objects.

All I know is the translation of Sakura's full name.

Haruno = Forever
Sakura = Useless

Naruto means fishcake(the sworly star looking things they put in ramen. I think it also means malestrom. I'm pretty sure Uzumaki means spiral. So his name translates to spiral malestrom, pretty neat.

This is normal everywhere.

This is also with us Western people, but it really surprises me that you guys don't even know.
Common names all have their meaning, for all you know your name is just a word in another language.

It's probably just as weird as people named "Blue" or "Apple" in English-speaking countries.

Or maybe it's as normal as Faith or Hope for names. In my language female names that are literally "faith" (Vera), "hope" (Nadejda) and "love" (Lubov') are quite common.

It's japanese culture.

Even our names have meanings you know.

Or Ryu Hayabusa (Dragon and Paragirine Falcon resp)

This is true. For instance, my name is Mitch; it's Hebrew for "Who's like God?"

Also, I feel that the characters' names have meaning behind the characters themselves. Perhaps fitting with some kind of theme, or relating to the character themself. Like Darui's name means sluggish or dull, if I remember correctly, which fits his character.
