He said it appears as a cloud, as by what Sasuke says, Tobi says it is gas, the only thing I know people inhale is gas also in the desert there are no 'clouds' why? Because of the extreme heat so in normal life clouds lose to heat further proving my point. Blaze is fail.

I also gave you the sink the giant Deidara into Swamp of The Underworld before it explodes counter, which will work as it takes up to 2 pages of manga chapter before C4 blows.
