It is a forbidden uchiha tech, and the sharingan's powers are deeply linked and compatable with senju dna.

If sharingan and wood style are "paths" and rinnegan is a path, wouldn't that suggest that Tobi is still collecting paths (or he has the other paths).

In conclusion, I believe Tobi is collecting the paths to perfect Izanagi for the ten-tails.What do you think?

but the drawback is too great to use Izanagi unless its fatality..

If Danzo just fantasized Sasuke dead, would the izanagi works? from what i understood about izanagi is it makes the fantasy of the user a reality and vice versa. :flaw:

I think it only directly affects the user unless someone has like a lot of power and skill

I agree that its the greatest, I just don't think what we've seen is its true power.

In the middle of the chapter, he didn't say "two of the paths are now one being" he said, "As the 2nd SO6P, I am a unique being." And he didn't say to nagato, "You were the third path" he said "You were the 3rd sage of the 6 paths."

Since Tobi has both Uchiha and senju DNA, he considers himself the 2nd sage. And since Nagato had the rinnegan after him, he could also be considered similar to the sage, but he reached that status after Tobi so he was the 3rd while Tobi was the 2nd.

As for getting more powerful, we know that Tobi is still trying to become 'complete', but he is certainly not on a hunt for the remaining 3 'paths' because the paths as you are thinking do not exist.

Ya it was definitely a translation error. There was a big thread about it, and many others I'm sure:

The 3rd post on that thread explains most of it. A lot of people on that thread claimed that they had known it was an error for quite some time, but strangely no one, other than me, has said so on this thread. In reality, it makes perfect sense that there are not six paths considering Tobi has not mentioned nor hunted anyone else down for these said paths. Over a year ago, these 'path' threads ran rampant, but nowadays you hardly see them because most people know it was a translation error.

When it comes to the Juubi and the 9-tomoe eye...anyone's guess is as good as mine right now. What we truly need to be told is whether the eye belonged to the Juubi or the sage. Its possible that the sage had another doujutsu, in addition to rinnegan, but I think the chances are better that the 9-tomoe was actually native to the Juubi.
