22 years... Have passed since one piece was revealed to world but still not a single person could reach Raftel, let alone finding one piece...
What are shanks intentions? He probably is someone who know exact location of raftel along with one piece... But still he is playing around...doing parties...and stuff. too casual(acc. to mihawk)...for what purpose he became pirate...? and yet a yonko...
It's not possible that he just want someone(even Luffy) to find one piece while he drinks booze and hangovers...
Buggy:known as most greedy pirate when it comes to treasure(ah!okay....second to nami) he may know location of biggest treasure but still searching small treasures ...(he may not have guts to go there) but his df is one of the most powerful defensive df...if only he was swordsman...he would have became yonko himself
World government is stopping everyone from reading polygraphs or knowing true history and fighting pirates...but shows no intentions finding one piece and destroy the greatest motivation of pirates... World government have all resources to find one piece...but no interest... It's likethey want to play marine pirate forever...unless someone else find it...

Raftel... It's a strange place. Roger to WB: "Shall I tell you how to reach Raftel?" And then WB answers with: "No. It's not like I want to go there anyway." So Raftel may be very hard to reach even for the strongest of the Emperors, and who knows? Maybe it is like... Hell.

And Shanks and Buggy where both at Roger's ship and left at his death, meaning they where both at Raftel. But as you said, why won't they go there? Maybe it's like... Enter Raftel, and do a sacrifice. Roger left his One Piece as the sacrifice, cause he didn't wanna lose a nakama. Maybe that's why Buggy is gathering treassures? He knows about the "Raftel rule". In order to leave Raftel you must let your greates treassure be there. WB's treassure was his family.

I don't think One Piece is an actual treasure, it probably has no real value.

Fame, wealth, power - you get all this not by obtaining One Piece but by reaching Raftel. Because it's at the top of the world and you are struggling to get there. It's like a race to the top and the winner takes all.

Roger was the first man to find One Piece, atleast the first one since the Void Century. It probably has personal value to Roger and no value to someone like Big Mam.

I am pretty sure that only a D. (or someone that inherited their will) could see it's true value. Thus why Buggy would have no use for it.

Buggy as a swordsman would make no difference. If anything it'd just limit him more since he isn't using his fruit to its full potential. Bara Bara Carnival I'd take over 300 Pound Cannon.
imagine him at level of mihawk... What can possibly beat Mihawk else than swordsman... You saw cannons will notwork if aswordsman is skilled... And buggy df will keep you from getting cut...if mastered better it can even endure haki imbued sword strikes... Like we saw logia admirals defense against haki...

You're just being hypothetical. You're trying to make a composite character instead of Buggy. A character like that will get beaten by a guy who can avoid those sword strikes and knows physical attacks.

Besides, are you limiting the Bara Bara no Mi to a defensive fruit and no more? Separating Buggy's hand and putting it inside a human body, making the Muggy Ball explode inside it is a more efficient way of dealing with enemies instead of what you're suggesting.

Precisely.
I am pretty sure for men like Roger (pretty similar to luffy) gold or treasure would mean anything.
It was Roger's masterstroke to start the great age of pirates. By saying that he had left the worlds greatest treasure at raftel.

Personally i believe Raftel has the last link of the void history (the truth perhaps the last poneglyph) that connects to the present. A thing the marines would not want disclosed lies there. But Roger and his crew even after finding it out could not do anything because of the following reasons..

  1. Roger was already suffering from an incurable disease.
  2. His doctor was someone who had just tagged along to find another pirate crew.
  3. During that age i don't think there were enough pirates for him to rally against the power of the world government.
What shanks is doing is generating enough power that would help luffy in the final epic battle that's gonna happen. His role was to just guide the person who inherited the will of D. And not to take the center stage himself. Just as he was a caretaker of the straw hat (to be given away when the right person was found).

ehhh! You are accusing me of being hypothetical...
Consider this: we haven't seen Mihawk using haki,so let's assume he doesn't and let him fight with zoro at present... (in this scenerio ,difference is level of mastery) Only give buggy ability to Zoro... I am sure Zoro can beat Mihawk...in that particular case only...
Btw nice offensive technique you came up with... But his DF is more defensive than offensive...you have to admit that at least... But again..only when it comes to sword fight...

I am sure Mihawk can beat Zoro solely by beating Zoro by the flat of his sword.

no just no ><
Mihawk deflected bullets with his Kokutou Yoru. Tashigi deflected a cannonball using Shigure. In some Asian Kung Fu movies characters are depicted slapping people with the flat of their swords. What makes you think Mihawk cannot? Is a sword really only capable of cutting? Broaden your horizons.

Watch that fight.

If they had cut the cannoballs vertically the cannonballs would've exploded,I just can't imagine Mihawk beating zoro by using the flat part of his sword...

Zoro uses Karasumagari when fighting the Franky Family, and cuts cannonballs like they were fish fillet. I see no reason why Tashigi couldn't cut them herself too. Also, when cut, bullets don't explode.

Well now it's time to imagine it.

;P I didn't have the intention to start a debate but Im bored so..

If Mihawk would have cut the bullets he would'nt have changed the bullet's course and normally cannonballs do explode when they're cut (can be seen when rayleigh cuts cannonballs when he luffy and jinbei went to marineford.)

If Mihawk cut the bullets they would change course since from the sword's edge to the main body is a triangle. Cannonballs explode when cut but not on the swordsman based on OP logic because of inertia.

Still don't know how this ties in with Mihawk beating Zoro using sword slapping.

Lol ,that has to be the painful way to die.I am sure even Robin can do that we have seen her hands grow from outside one's body but can she make it to grow inside one body  .haki or not nothing will be effective against that then? any comments :D
