Um, his death in teh manga was pretty lame sincerely, it was over really quick, so unless you just like concentrate on a certain sad page of his death you would feel anything.O_O

Yeah I only watch the anime but people already told me this that read the manga. It's too bad really I loved this character. Jiraiya and shikimaru are my favs and now i'll only have one that is alive. I might start reading the manga after the episode that jiraiya dies on. Anyways the show must go on I guess.
