Itachi's selfishness is what caused this war

You cant blame itachi for sasuke's actions... But if you want to go to the root of the problem it would be the uchiha clans fault for plotting against the village, if they never did that then itachi would have never reacted and no one would have died

If the Clan was given a say in politics they would have not tried to revolt though.

It has nothing to do with itachi tobi would have declared war with or without sasuke. Like he said he took a gamble telling sasuke about itachi because he didnt know weather he would want revenge or want to protect the village like itachi wanted

Sasuke was calm and told Suigetsu not to kill innocents during the hunt for Itachi, but when he fought Danzo he mercilessly pierced through Karin to get to Danzo. He has become darker and darker. Also, Karin noted his chakra as becoming colder. All after Tobi told him the truth.
And who cares if Sasuke would be living a lie. Sometimes lies are better than the truth. Sasuke knowing the truth about Itachi is a perfect example. If he lived a lie then Sasuke wouldn't be Tobi's pawn and he wouldn't want to destroy Konoha.

The same thing could be said about Itachi simply killing Sasuke. There was a reason he brought up Madara to Sasuke, he knew they would meet; Amaterasu was suppose to stop this from happening, but like all of Itachi's plans, it failed.
