He only used his right eye on the ash bone technique, tsb are much faster especially with the gravity thing in kaguya's dimension.
Itachi's genjutsu is instant, so there's no problem that it will be faster than his left eyes. But Itachi's genjutsus are not going to beat an Uchiha with a 3 tomoe sharingan at least.
