Something bugs me a bit: Itachi broke free of the control of Edo Tensei, but he's still dead. I mean, he's still a soul trapped in a sacrificial body. Why doesn't kabuto just release the tech? Puffing him?

Firstly, Itachi didn't really break free. Kabuto placed a talisman in Itachi that allowed Kabuto to control Itachi. In other words Itachi was under the influence of that Talisman before he encountered Naruto. KA then cancelled that talisman by overriding it with different instructions. Those instructions being "Protect Konoha." KA forces him to protect Konoha.

Secondly, I think that Kabuto hasn't "released" Itachi yet because he cant release one Edo without releasing all the others. But thats only a guess.

Also, Itachi was ill (of some unknown disease) when he died and blind. Nagato was weak from having synched with Gedo Mezo for so many years and when he died he was completly exausted of life because of his use of the Outer Path, leaving his hair white. So, why when Itachi is reborn, he has his MS and his full vitality and Nagato is still crumbling and can't really walk and has his white hair? Then he suckes chakra from the 8 Tails (biju chakra which is diferent from normal chakra) and his hair recovers it's color and he recovers all abilities.

I wondered the same things. I think only Kishi truly knows why he depicted Itachi full of chakra but Nagato drained. Even though both died drained of chakra.

Questions:
-Why hasn't itachi puffed yet and how long will he be "alive"?
-Is the Uzumaki chakra related to the Biju Chakra? That would explain their ability to life longer and to be able to have the 9 tails sealed in them and in some cases control them.
-Can Nagato use the Outer Path to revive someone now that he has more chakra? Can he revive himself for example? Why doesn't he break free of control?


Many questions but it bugs me this "imperfect" Edo Tensei as a plot engine...

Answers:
- Kabuto cant "puff" Itachi without "puffing" the others
- I can only guess that Uzumaki's must have the same sort of compatibility that the Gin-Kin brothers had with Bijuu's and their chakra. And their longevity comes from their strong life force.
- Nagato should be able to revive using Outer Path if he has chakra. But...he shouldn't be able to revive himself because his soul is already in the Impure World. And, "breaking free", for Edo's, means that you turn into dust and a dead sacrifice again with your soul returning to the Pure World. Itachi didn't break free. He was accidentally reprogrammed, which is why he didn't turn to dust and a corps.

In regards to his health, it weakened him but didn't get to the stage where it would kill him. He killed himself by draining himself entirely of Charka, since he maintained his Jutsu until his death. So hence when he was brought back, he might have had the illness still present, but we also knew that he was capable of all he had done while fighting Sasuke. Techically he's probably still not at his prime, but since he no longer has a stamina restriction he can more or less do what he wants.

Nageto meanwhile had been in pretty poor shape for a long time due to the way he continuously pushed his body to the limits, even before his death he appeared to be more or less entirely immobile. Even when he absorbed Charka he didn't recover his mobility, it merely made his appearance more healthy.

Impure World Resurrection uses the memories of the soul as well as the DNA samples to reconstruct the DNA of the sacrifice with the black dust. This will essentially replicate the last status of the summoned soul with ALL their body parts. This is why Chiyo is still old, Nagato and Itachi kept their eyes, and Sasori was brought back as a human. Itachi could still be weakened as was his last status, but then again he never showed much of that and could just be sucking it up. Itachi cannot puff until he finds out the hand signs to dispel the technique...He also needs to use Genjutsu to force Kabuto to do those signs.

Also, the Naruto world bases death in the Shinto-Buddhist way...This means you are only really considered dead when your soul is in the Pure World. The technique is called Impure world RESURRECTION because it DOES bring you to life. What shell your soul uses does not matter, just like it did not matter with Orochimaru´s Eternal Soul REBIRTH. This means that technically Orochimaru, Nagato, the Hokages, Gold and Silver brothers, and Deidara are not dead. Impure World Resurrection has very small mistakes but overall the biggest issue is that people do not even get the basics of how the technique works.

Dupilcate active threads are considered spam. But, if a thread has not been posted in over a month, i.e. last post in the thread is older than one month period, it is considered dead and then you can post the topic again.
