Itachi is a God?? He is only unique because of the Yata mirror and Totsuka sword. But Edo Madara can end all that. Itachi's defence is his Susano. Well, Madara obliterates it with either the Meteor technique or Perfect Susano. Then Itachi get's stabbed in the **** hole with 1000 mokuton stakes. Itachi is dead. What sort of God is he!? -_-

Speaking of abilities, the design of his abilities is a masterpiece with a great theme. How can people miss it?

Itachi steps in as someone very skilled with illusions. This is originally interpreted as the mark of a evil character whereas it only has to do with his duplicity and his unwillingness to directly harm others, his manipulative behavior (arguably his worst trait) and his refusal of direct violence (his best virtue).

Beyond his "curtain of illusions", though, Itachi (like many pacifists in manga and anime, see Toki from Fist of the North Star) actually has a stronger powers than many, many others. The central point is that he just avoids using them most of the time. It fits perfectly with what he is, his many fake personalities, his shrouded character, and his overall superiority to most of his supposed peers, his reluctance to get things done with brute force only.

Itachi is a beautifully designed character.

Incidentally, people should keep in mind that Itachi cannot use MS powers indefinitely. I don't find MS to be unbalanced, given how fast it burns out, I'd say EMS is unbalanced though.

Fanboy is a very negative term indicating an high level of obsession with a certain product/concept/character, lack of objectivity, bias, and a tendence to shout opinion out loud trying to stand out. Do you find that most people fall under such a category?

And speaking of preferences I don't particularly love Itachi nor Minato. Sasori, Kabuto, Gaara, Hinata are my favorite characters, maybe Sakura too, lately I'm liking Hashirama a lot. I wouldn't call myself a fanboy of any of those, actually.

I agree with what you're saying. There is (surprisingly) a lot of depth to Itachi's character.

Admittedly Itachi (like Minato) gets a lot of praise from other character, to the point where it becomes annoying, but these characters in themselves are quite controversial and interesting, Itachi especially.

Itachi isn't really THAT strong, he gets a lot of plot power and fanhype. He has been stated to be below Tobi and around Jiraiya. Which makes sense, if Itachi were any more powerful than that then he could had stopped Akatsuki himself since he was a good guy, but he couldn't. What you're doing is falling for the hyperboles and no-limit fallacies.

Tsukiyomi: Actually, Itachi said the Sharingan wouldn't even protect against it. Tsukiyomi also doesn't kill, it causes mental strain. Kakashi surprised them by having enough fortitude to resist it, and Sasuke managed to break it using his fortitude. That is the key to beating Tsukiyomi. Also, Itachi can only use it if you stare directly into his eyes, which can be avoided.

Amaterasu: It does not work like a magnifying glass on an ant, it's a fireball that can be avoided. Sasuke avoided it, Gyuuki reacted to it, Ei dodged it. It also takes a little time to prep which gives off warnings, and burns rather slowly. These give options to counter it. It's most feared aspects seem to be the user's ability to control it's trajectory and the inability to extinguish it my normal means.

Totsuka: It's sealing is overrated. You know what happens when a normal giant sword pierces you? You die. It's sealing is only actually effective against immortals. It also has to actually pierce you to work, meaning you can avoid it. Who has avoided being hit by Susanoo? Hashirama, Ei, Gaara, Onoki, Mei, Danzo, etc. It can also possibly be stripped from Susanoo.

Yata: It's still just a shield that can only block one direction at a time, there are ways around it. It can also possibly be stripped from Susanoo.

Yasaka Magatama: It has never been shown exploding, it's just essentially three giant shurikens.

Shadow Clone is great but not that hax, especially since Itachi has a small chakra pool compared to someone like Naruto. Because of that he has to be very careful since it eats half of his chakra.

Crows are very weak, their greatest use is confusion and a clone with 10% of Itachi's chakra.

Koto Amatsukami cannot be used by Itachi. It wasn't done recharging while Itachi had it, then he gave it away.

Low-mid level Katons and Suitons, nothing hax.

All ninjas have can hit bullseyes with shurikens and kunais, it's not hax.

Genjutsu is something most high-level ninjas should be experienced in dealing with. It's not a rare ability, and if it were so powerful then Kurenai and Shii would be Kages, and Tayuya would had been leader of the Sound Five.

Everyone can use Shunshin, it's a basic academy-level jutsu.

A lot of jutsus only require anywhere from one to a few handseals, and some don't require any at all. It's not hax.

Izanami is not practical for battle and is almost impossible to use.

If Itachi does have Izanagi, it'll last less then a minute and not only can he only really use it one time, but he'll lose two of his MS jutsus.

Itachi has options, but doesn't really have a too versatile move pool. He has genjutsu, fireballs, a water drill, clones, and a guardian.
