I think the only Genjutsu that are actually worth it are Kotoamatsukami and Mugen Tsukiyomi, most others for Sharingan require eye contact or make the opponent focus on a point.

Variations are nearly limitless when it comes to Elements and Ninjutsu.
I would rather have mastery of elements and Nin/Tai than Genjutsu.

Genjutsu isn't physical, it only can cause stress.
