Doesn't really matter since Hashirama's and Madara's true power were a mystery to everyone except each other, and perhaps their siblings. Hashirama's true power was considered a fairy tail, and Onoki didn't even know that Madara was going easy against him and Muu.

Kishimoto wrote in a data book that Hiruzen was the strongest. The fact Hiruzen shares a moniker with f-cking Hagoromo and Hashirama should be a clear indication that Prime Hiruzen is the real deal.

As far as feats go, what he showed during Part I was deemed pitiful by Enma, who was obviously comparing him to his prime self. We once again got a glimpse at Prime Hiruzen's power when he effortlessly, and on the fly, countered Swirly's five element attack with his own.

Prime Hiruzen > Hashirama is an indisputable fact derived from the author's own words. This is said in the manga as well as the data books.

There's plenty from way back when that only recently is being reaffirmed.

Sasuke summoning hawks? Foreshadowed several hundred chapters before it happened.

Obito existing and being alive still? Foreshadowed several hundred chapters before we saw him.
afawk, Kishimoto always intended to seal Hashirama and Tobirama in the Shinigami so Kabuto couldn't use them during the war, etc.

There is so much shit that Kishimoto has hinted at and foreshadowed many chapters before they were revealed. Why would this be any different? Why would Kishimoto retroactively assign Hagoromo and Hashirama the name moniker as Hiruzen - God of Shinobi? As far as we know, Kishimoto always planned this.

There are now two versions:

1. Prime Hiruzen > How strong people thought Hashirama was.

And...

2. Prime Hiruzen < How strong Hashirama really was.

At the very least, Prime Hiruzen > everyone except Hashirama/Madara.

Oh snap. Itachi actually shows respect towards those around him unlike all the other Uchiha we've seen so far who only show arrogance. This is definitely a deciding factor in the fight. Itachi will go easy on the guy, once he gets him in his Tsukiyomi. Don't worry, he'll only hurt him enough to win and will refrain from killing him.

Healthy Itachi is considered fanfic, even though we saw him healthy at one point, Zetsu stated that Itachi should not have been coughing up blood and have had quicker movements during his fight with Sasuke, and he wasn't sick from the start.

Meanwhile, Prime Hiruzen is considered fanfic even though the only thing we have pointing to his power was one remark on a single manga panel way back in pt1 saying "When he was in his prime, he was above them"...and we don't know if this necessarily meant in brute power alone or just more skilled due to being able to use a great amount of Konoha's techs.

I'll go with Itachi on this.
