nagato has been fighting ever since his training with jiraiya. he also fought all the time when the original akatsuki were around against other groups. hes like 40 years old. itachi is like 21-23 years old. he trained from his academy days and was a leader of his own anbu squad at 13.

naruto outsmarted kakuzu and the attack that naruto hit him with was a one shot tech that end fights instantly if it connects. naruto had him beat power wise.

I agree but i know nothing on hiruzen prime to say that he would obliterate him considering nagato took out sm jiraiya and naruto the trapped a 8 tails naruto

Oh boy this shit again? im just gonna say this once itachi CANNOT beat nagato....and itachi knows this,and for a ninja in itachis shoes going against a man like nagato,itachi would(and will) be highly intelligent to realize that their are some battles you just can't win.....their are some forces so damn overwhelming that no tactical approach is going to lead to a victory that is worth having nagato is one of them forces....itachis intelligent enough not to even attempt fight nagato especially as a edo because after seeing what he can do once itachis aware of the fact that as EDO nagatos far more dangerous than himself and far more than he was in life even in the state he was in, because imagine itachi trying to fight a man with a never dying body AND unlimited chakra that can do what nagato did? even if itachi made it out of one situation he would have't to look forward to that situation again and thats something itachi won't be looking forward to.....honestly the only way i can see itachi beating nagato is if nagato just dies at the last second for some reason while delivering the finishing like kimimaro did against garra....thats the only way....
