This is one of those situational fights that could go either way, Itachi's Tsukiyomi is a sure kill, but Minato can kill hundreds in an instant. I will say that if Minato were to place hundreds of his FTG Shuriken all over the field, which he could easily do, he'd win, every shuriken means Minato can poof at any given time at any given instant, and if Itachi uses Susanoo, I doubt he could kill Minato, and Minato could just wait until Susanoo and Itachi's various jutsu take their toll on him.

minato have so many fanboiis, u can tell by the replys on this thread, thay all think he could beat everybody with speed, all itachi have to do is stop his kunais which he can do, he can even amerterasu the battle field and with genjutsu omg dont see how minato could beat him. and the reason why i prefer raikage speed is because he dpnt need to throw some stupid kunai he just goes. if raikage didnt let minato throw those kunais when they met, minato would of been done
ok that doesnt count but in the anime jiraiya did say 4th's skill was unparalleled in history, in which itachi is included..kisame gets surprised at alot of things so using him as an example doesnt have any significance...

i myself am a fan of both itachi and minato, and from the feats each individual achieved minato trumps itachi
Just for anyone answering anyone could be a fan boy, and Minato's jutsu's aren't self destructive like the Uchiha's, and to be honest, we know more of Itachi's capabilities than we do Minato's, based off of those facts, ppl came to a conclusion, no need to bust a Jugular over Minato dude.

How much did Jiraiya knew about Itachis skills? For example, he was seeing Amaterasu first time in his life and he didnt know nothing about it.
Kisame as Itachis partner knew a lot about his skills, so his words have great signifacatce. For example, if Itachi used Amaterasu on Jiraiya insted of frog stomach Jiraiya would be dead on the spot.
sounds to me like ur re recounting a batle they had, did i miss something? we know minato was a kage..u dont become kage with handful of jutsu's...so im sure his got more seals up his sleeve...if danzo can find a weakness in susanoo, minato could better than

kisame didnt even know who jiraiya was...he couldn even tell the difference between guy's sweat and chakra, his super strong but same cant be said about his intelligence
Plus take into account that Itachi can't just Susanoo him to death, remember that Susanoo made Sasuke say every cell in his body hurts, so he does not have infinite Susanoo. Genjutsu may or may not work, we don't know what the 4th was like in genjutsu, but I do know that Itachi will run out of chakra with Susanoo, Tsukiyomi is his only hope, I doubt someone known as the fastest ninja alive has to worry about sweet Susan...LOL

No but he could see what technique Jiraiya used and knowing Itachis skills he could conclude if there was necessary for them to retreat at that moment. Like I said, Itachi could use Amaterasu on Jiraiya instead on frog stomach, and Jiraiya would be dead.

Itachi would win. The reason is that itachi can just use susanoo (which minato can't defeat with rasengan or oedama rasengan) do a few handseals and minato is in a genjutsu and doesn't realize it, minato will end up like deidara trying to kill himself with a rasengan, itachi is ten times better than minato when it comes to throwing kunai, itachi handseals is as fast as minato's shushin no jutsu. Itachi was able to keep up with naruto so idk why u fink he can't react fast enough even bee was able to react so idk why u fink itachi can't. itachi can aviod minato's kunai since he can hit blind spot with kunai eyes closed, itachi has shisui eyes which mean he could use kotoamatsukami on minato and minato will become his slave, minato can evade amaterasu but he can't aviod eye contact throughout the entire fight and by so doing will get hit by tskuyomi and its game over(three tamoe genjutsu is enough to finish minato as itachi did with oro but i said tskuyomi to prevent argument that he can break out of it). You guyz are retarded and u call people names for sayin itachi will win. Keep dreaming that minato will win.

suske got f'd..all he had to to do was burn jiraiya and take naruto? plus dont forget jiraiya cud go sage mode, im sure itachi was aware of that...and even so jiraiya dusn even compare himself to minato, a normal minato is >>> SM jiraiya, by logic minato should be stronger than itachi
