skills differ, itachi is not tobi.
Also, you couldn't know what itachi have in his sleeve, he have only shown a little portion of his power.
tobi was amaterasued by sasuke, so why itachi cannot minato?
Amaterasu and tsukuyomi cannot be avoided if the user is skilled. If you argue that minato is too fast for genjutsu and amatersu, then you should aurgue that minato is faster than light!!!
And 4th didn't have any attack like kamui.
Itachi will win.
he'z the yellow flash and even normal ninjas were able to dodge amaterasu..... While we'r talkin bout "yellow flash" who cud teleport and move instantanously!!!!
He had a seal kunai which acted as kamui,,,,,,,

Amaterasu: Use body flicker to move out of sight.
Tsukuyomi: Don't look into Itachi's eyes.
FTG techniques are instantaneous, meaning that technically, yes minato can move from one marked area to another marked area faster then light. He could create a barrier that absorbed a tbb although it merely sent it to another marked area instead of into oblivion.
Not really a fanboy, but I like to show that some characters are not completely invincible with their techniques. (ex: Minatos FTG, Itachi's Susanoo, Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi)
Their both big legends of their time. Minato's speed and Itachi's mind+ his ultimate defense and offense susanoo with totsuka.
I want to go with itachi lol but it would be fanboism so i say tie lol.

the same thing we were thinking about itachi vs pain while all people thinking avoiding itachi's attacks. 1: amaterasu worked
2: even kunai worked.
3: amaterasu range attacked worked.
4: totsuka worked.

Anyway people keep saying that if you dont look into itachi's eyes you wouldnt be caught in genjutsu and yet disregard what happened to naruto twice. Firstly when him and kakashi, chiyo and sakura fough 30% clone itachi and when naruto was in the forest during their search for sasuke.
Itachi seems to use genjutsu regardless of whether his opponents looks in his. Same with when he meets sasuke for the first time in shippuden and later in their fight
Fighting a ninja at a level of Itachi's with Techniques like Amaterasu, WHILE avoiding contact is nearly impossible. Most people can't even touch Itachi with Eye contact. Besides Itachi has Genjutsu that dosen't require any eye contact.

Itachi never said he only has one Genjutsu that he can use that dosen't require eye contact.

Plus the Genjutsu he used on Sasuke before their fight. He made it appear as if Sasuke saw him on that side of the room in the chair. I doubt he looked at his eyes to preform this, because it showed no indication of Itachi using his "eyes" like he did on Deidara.
-Even if Itachi only had 1 Genjustu without eye contact, that would be enough-
But Genjutsu is Genjutsu, he makes you see what he wants, by pointing a finger. So theoretically it's not just "1" Genjutsu. It's whatever he wants you to experience.

As far as we've seen, we've only seen two accounts (techniques) of Itachi's genjutsu that didn't require eye contact (I checked it was the crow jutsu and the other one he used on Naruto that made Sasuke and the others appear on his body). That being said you can't assume there is more jutsu in his arsonal that don't require his Sharingan...
Also it gets annoying when people always pull the genjutsu card, as if there isn't any defense against them. Sharingan based gen and normal gen that isn't Koto or Tsukuyomi isn't invicible nor does it mean automatic defeat for Minato. Next you or somebody else will say that there hasn't been any demonstration of Minato's genjutsu prowess. To that I'll say, because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't there. We have seen him in no situation where he has needed to combat genjutsu or any situation where he has perticurally needed to use genjutsu.
The genjutsu defense isn't going to fly aside from Tsukuyomi, which there is defense against it.

I never said that Minato could survive...but I did implicate the possibility that Tsukuyomi won't be a factor should Minato avoid eye contact, which is a possibility that you can't ignore.
Refering to other genjutsu aside from Tsukuyomi, there are defense for it.
