Itachi wins high or mid difficulty.

Itachi had Ama, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi since he was 13.

I'd say Jiraiya wins an IC, inteless fight.

lol u just said itachi has amatarasu and tsuky... then u say jman wins... lol good one...hahahah

jman cannot dodge ama...

@ bogard

The counters u presented for ama aren't convincing me.
First and foremost, jman lacks the base speed/speed feats to dodge ama. People often state that ama burns slowly, however ama burns faster when eye contact is concentrated. Rather iffy if jiraiya could do a substitute while being engulfed in flames... although jman has shown to have tremendous will power, evident in the 6POP fight... so that is debatable. The needle jizo actually provides and opportunity for jman to be susceptible to totsuka blade, as it can hinder jmans vision and speed on dodging an upcoming totsuka blitz, as the term goes. You say ama is close range, doubtful, but for the sake of the argument if jman does keep his distance from itachi, itachi could simply cover the distance apart. As he is quite a speedster, contrary to jman.

Does Jiraiya start in SM? If not he dies pretty easy. Anyone using the "Itachi said that Kisame and him would stalemate with Jiraiya" bull shit, you are false. Itachi is clearly talking about Kurama.

I only counter your argument for the Susanoo. The Yomi Numa can be countered by two ways:

1. Chakra control

Itachi can concentrate chakra in his feet to avoid sinking.

2. Katon

He can drain off the mud.

Chakra control is not helping Itachi with the mud. It has Jiraiya's more potent and stronger chakra. If Itachi needed to walk on water I would agree, but not Jiraiya's swamp of the underworld.

Frog Song GG! XD

OT: It depends, Jiraiya is very shrewd so I doubt he's just going to run straight at Itachi, he's likely to keep his distance and really his best shots are Amaterasu/Susano'o.

Also, you shouldn't simply say that Orochimaru is stronger than Jiraiya, as SM pretty much puts him above Orochimaru in later life.

It'd be a tight fight and Itachi really needs to land a burst of Amaterasu on him to win, so I say if he can do that Itachi wins, if he can't, Jiraiya takes this.

Nahh. Not only would it still be very difficult to stop Jiraiya, but also because Itachi was still working to protect the village, killing off one it's strongest shinobi hardly helps.

Itachi takes this mid-high diff. But Jiraiya would put up a good fight.

1 on 1 it's a pretty even fight but it's not going to be 1 on 1. Jiraiya's summons will exhaust Itachi alone. People say Amaterasu gg , but he can only use MS up to 3 times max. He doesn't have Kagatsuchi so the 3 Toad Boss summons will exhaust Itachi alone.

Oh dear god not this again. Anyway, it's my opinion that Jiraiya wins high diff if starting in base and mid-high diff starting in Sage Mode. I will be debating this with Icelerate in a couple weeks. T Bogard, I didnt read your post but im sure those were excellent points, you the real mvp. Giving you rep

How does he counter Amaterasu in base form?

Oh please. A simple body replacement (substitution) counters Amaterasu.
Subsitution is one of the most underrated techniques... Substitution could potentially counter any attack. Think about it..My point is that, substitution has been nerfed. And bringing substitution in battle just complicates things.

-swamp of the underworld >>>> Susano'o
-shadow clone mastery+SM speed+toad replacements > Amaterasu
-toads+shadow clones+self-release > genjutsu
-Jiraiya's fire style >>>>>>>>>> Itachi's fire style.

Itachi is powerful and smart, but Jiraiya's arsenal is too high for Itachi.

Itachi did say if ksame and him fought jiraiya in pretimeskip it wouldn't be without consequences. My guess is in the timeskip period itachi improved his sharingan and became much stronger than he were in pre timeskip. He also never used susanoo in pretimeskip, maybe he learned that during timeskip. I would say itachi mid diff

That's what we mean by Itachi illogical fan. Itachi already had Mangyeko sharingan and there is NO reason whatsoever why he would have improved during time skip more than Jiraiya. It's a baseless wishful argument. Itachi stated that if he and Kisame had fought Jiraiya together the outcome would have been uncertain.

Susanoo amaterasu and tsukuyomi are strong but Jiraia is a great ninja full of very powerful ninjutsus. Btw Jiraiya is most likely stronger than Orochimaru, so the fact that Itachi is stronger than him doesn't help with the discussion. Jiraiya can dispel genjutsu, use substitution technique, and his various justsus are very strong due to his huge chakra reserves, so he can counteract susano'o and amateratsu, although if he's caught in the latter his only hope is to cut off the part of the body that is burning.

In the distance his stamina is far superior to that of Itachi, so given this will most likely be a long fight, I'd say Jiraiya takes this High Diff.
