1st point: Ya he said that but the moment they engaged in battle that meant holding back was not possible.

2nd: If itachi kept up with the taijutsu speed of km naruto that means he has the ability to keep up with with SM jiraya.

whats up! yeah you can't base itachis speed Off of that battle but at the same time you can't not keep that into consideration because that battle was with all top tier ninja(chapter title), bee, naruto, nagato. The fact is even though it isn't stated anywhere that itachi is super fast, manga canon has shown he's able to keep up with top ninjas with stealth and quickness. I see jiraiya getting a boost out of sage mode but itachi is a master of the sharingan and mangekyou. well in this case the thead is only for base itachi no mangekyou. his base feats are better than jiraiyas and even what's been been shown in the manga itachi has shown more impressive skill assets.
I never go off of the itachi beat oro so he can beat jiraiya nonsense logic, I'm going off of what's given to us in every new manga like when itachi was reincarnated, kabuto made a remark that itachi was on a whole differnent level than the rest and look, he ended up sealing Nagato, with the assist of naruto and bee of course, without losing is cool. he measured his opponent who was undoubtfully more powerful in strength, and found a weakness very quickly.
for the low chakra part. on his death bed he was able to pull off like 5 amaterasus, a tsukuyomi, and still bring out that susano in time faster than KIRINs impact. but since this is base itachi regular sharingan, jiraiya has a chance. But still, from what we've seen of base itachi, you can consider him kage material. I can see a no restrictions jiraiya beating sharingan itachi but not mangekyou in any possible way unless the circumstances totally weighed in jiraiyas favor(jiraiya starts with ma and pa 200 yards away vs itachi with only one use of all his techniques).
sry for this novel response lol, but I believe that with the plot, naruto and sasuke have somewhat equal development as characters. currently with bm naruto I think he's one step ahead of sasuke but in the latest manga it seems to speculate that sasuke will get his power up soon. Anyways naruto had overcome pain, sasuke had to overcome itachi. I believe itachi and Nagato are just stronger than jiraiya

he has ways to counteract it. namely summoning toads to break him out of it. and the sensing barrier to find itachi without using his eyes

Jiraiya turns base itachi into a frog. Sage mode jiraiya wipes the floor with ms itachi. Tatuya's genjutsu easily caught itachi,ma and pa's own are ten times better and can easily go through susanoo,toads around to help him fight+shadow clone faint=dead itachi.honestly itachi fanboys are getting pathetic:flaw:
