Regardless, Gai would never fight an Uchiha by looking at their eyes, he already mentioned that he's mastered fighting Kakashi by looking at his feet so Itachi could be the same I suppose.

so this means that gai will have all 8 gates open from the beginning? definetly gai, no way itachi can match his speed, Itachi just gets overwhelmed by speed and pressure of Gai's cannoning.

Overcoming anything is going to be a problem for Guy.
I wish people would stop overrating him. Is he strong? Yes. Does he stand a chance against Itachi? No
Sure he can avoid eye contact but Itachi has other genjutsus, he is not limited to Tsukuyomi.
Secondly, Itachi is super fast himself, possibly the fastest base character (without modes, and not counting Minato). He also has the sharingan to track movement, and so much more.
Also looking at someone's feet is the worst strategy ever. How is he supposed to see things coming at eye level? Amaterasu anyone? What about a kunai to the face? If he is looking down he won't see it coming or where exactly it is going. You don't need to move your feet to throw a kunai or use Amaterasu.
And Guy is not ever going to make a dent in Susanoo, there is not one thing he could do against it.

Susano'o is not the fastest thing in naruverse.. Guy in gate8 is one of the fastest.. I cannot see how on earth Itachi will manage to hit Guy with his sword. I also see that Guy will find an opening in the susano'o, like Danzo did.
First, he doesn't look at his feet, he looks at the person's mouth.
Second, most genjutsus are short-range, if Guy can keep his distance it's ok.
I agree, however, Guy doesn't stand a chance against Susano'o. Guy's only chance of winning is opening 7 gates within the first minute and taking Itachi out before he summons Susano'o.
As for Amaterasu, Guy with gates (7-8) can avoid it.
Itachi would most likely win, but Guy has a chance.
he doesn't have to hit him with his sword, gai would be stupid to go 8 gates if he knows about itachi susano'o, danzo found an opening in an incomplete susano'o. all itachi would have to do is track him with his sharingan and swing his sword around to keep gai at a distance, gai would do all the damage to himself trying to break through a complete susano'o with yata and totsuka.
it's a bad match-up

This isn't a fair comparison ......Itachi is the best sharingan,Mangekyou,Amateursuser.....Guy has speed,Itachi has sharingan to avoid physical attacks ...!!!! how would guy win!!!
