why would anyone with large chakra reserves need to bypass itachis susanoo, when he cant even maintain it that long. There's even a risk of killing himself just by trying to maintain it for extended periods of time.

Restrict his weakest form of Sharingan and any kind of Genjutsu and he still has a superior Fire Style that'll take Ay on. He burned Cursemark 2 Sasuke.

Itachi wins. He was able to pull up V3 (or V4) Susanoo against Kirin itself. And it was still standing. Ei's best feat was breaching through V1 Susanoo. Plus, his entire fighting style requires him to get close in order to win. There is no way he's getting through Itachi.
