Actually, no. Itachi conjured the exterior layer to protect himself from Kirin, he didn't bring Susano'o entirely, much like when Sasuke used the backbone of susano'o to protect himself from the raikage's attack.

Why not? Susano'o isn't instant, even Itachi showed that that time how the bones, muscles and whatnot were slowly building into the susano'o form. Not saying that every time it will take that much to form, but many times we're shown step by step how susano is slowly been formed (Kage summit when Sasuke attacks) which makes it more plausible to believe that the ribcage protected itachi and not that in an instant he conjured a full susano and used yata to deflect the attack.

Easily, itachis never totsukad anything that wasn’t distracted or highly immobile. Sasukes not getting tagged by totsuka in a 1v1. Yata might be a lil harder to over come, but with ameno is there a jutsu to block? Wouldn’t the jutsu be on itachi itself inside? Couldn’t he just ameno him out?

Yata is an omnipotent shield which can deflect all things and is spiritual. Add in the author's intent into the mix and it is pretty obvious he did not use it.

If Susano'o tanked Kirin and disabled Yata, you meant a full Susano'o, with mirror in hand, was the one that did that. So please, show scans that a full Susano'o was the one destroyed by Kirin.

Also, it's not about comparing attacks, all I said was that a partial susano'o was already used to block attacks many times in the manga, plus the fact that we've seen Itachi, in that same fight, slowly build Susano from scratch to full and not instantly. So therefore is logical to asume that whatever tanked Kirin was not full Susano'o but a part of it (call it the rib cage, head and shoulder, whatever)
