Itachi saving Sasuke is another plot induced inconsistency by Kishi

It's not considered downgrading if Itachi is stronger than those other ones. Besides, he protected Sasuke as any older sibling would do. Now I''m starting to believe Kishi is making Sasuke look so weak so that he can reveal his new jutsu during the Naruto fight.

To be honest I think people are missing an important point. Sasuke has avoided much quicker attacks. He probably realized that the attack was not aimed at him and felt no need to protect himself, he is an uchiha after all. remember naruto and sasuke vs zabuza? They are probably playing kabuto so that izanami can be used properly, for all we know it is already being used

Actually itachi haters have been saying itachi got owned therefore i thought you might also enjoy this.

Anyway there could be 2 plausible reasons.
First one being itachi had already anticipated the attack if you go back to the manga and protected sasuke.

Another reason is that sasuke might not have been able to activate susano in time to protect himself and itahi took advantage of himself being edo tensei and protected his bro instead. Besides its a team effort, both helped each other

Learn to type before calling someone "illogical". I doesn't matter if Naruto forgot everything, because it's unlikely that he'll fight pain again anyway. Sasuke is Itachi's YOUNGER BROTHER, of course Itachi would risk "cracking" in order to protect him -since Sasuke has more to lose. He's protected Sasuke many times before, I don't see how this situation is any different. No one said Itachi was faster than Sasuke, Sasuke just didn't feel obligated to defend himself since the attack was aimed toward Itachi - not him. Stop assuming the Uchiha brothers are enemies and maybe this explanation will finally seep through that thick head of yours.

Or Itachi saved Sasuke because he is his little brother and even though he realizes Sasuke could have protected himself as well, it was probably his instinct as the older brother to protect his little brother. That's something I think most older sisters and brothers would do when they see that their younger siblings could be in trouble/danger. We all know Itachi loved Sasuke, so his reaction to protect Sasuke was only normal in my opinion.

sasuke is only the plot of shipuuden
when oroshimaru was killed
naruto shipuuden began

when sasuke dies in the war
shipuuden will end and the manga can continue with another naruto series

The main plot/antagonist of Shippuden is the Akatsuki, not Sasuke. Sasuke is an important part, but he always has been. He's a main character. And the series was called Shippuden waaaay before Oro was killed. And the post wasn't even about Naruto, it's about Itachi and Sasuke. There's no point in mentioning him.
