Gai would win with 6-7 gate. Gai know sharingan well. He is kakashi rival. He already surpass kakashi age ago. Just Gai think that using gate is a cheat for beating his rival, kakashi.

He ran for a number of reasons, but I think mainly because even if itachi and kisame won, the leaf anbu were coming and after a fight with guy they wouldn't be able to escape. Guy soloed kisame so he no too much of a threat in this battle. Finger genjutsu is garbage and only worked on Naruto because naruto is dumb. Guy in 7th gate would blitz itachi. Only thing to slow guy is susanoo but that isn't invincible because yata is not the whole susanoo, only the shield that is easily outmaneuvered by guys speed. So i think guy wins high diff in 7th, negative diff in 8th.
