False. Overusing MS turns you blind, and yes he was showing blindness due to overuse, but he also had a deathly illness that wasn't related to his MS usage

This, and OP if you dont count healthy itachi as his prime then this is a fail.

I think he had a prime, he had already reached his physical and skills peak by thirtheen and once he activated his ms, the point where he mastered the three techs efficiently and found the weapons would be his prime. then his strength was on a slow downward slope as his vision became more blurry and he couldnt just pop out his ms for everything like sasuke did.

but yeah, that's why itachi isn't in my top ten. it's shown very clearly that against multiple opponents/bunshin his style isn't nearly as effective, whereas there are at least ten characters who've taken on multiple kage levels and won and a few kage who we haven't seen nearly as much of as itachi and who would probably be in a similar level.
category one: hashirama, madara, obito, dsm kabuto, naruto, sasuke, hiruzen, minato, hanzou, nagato
category two: muu, second mizukage, third raikage, oonoki,kakashi, itachi, sannin, gaara, sasori, white fang etc.

There is some truth in what you say. Itachi is more suited to 1 vs 1 situations and in those situations i can without a doubt say about 6 people, are favourites against him, his fighting style and techniques are best suited for 1 vs 1 situations.

However do not be misunderstood, he can tangle with 2 or opponents and canonically he has, even if we forget his feats as an edo. But this will depend on the opponents level. Example in part 1, he couldv'e defeated asuma/kurenai on his own. Similarly with nothing but taijutsu got rid of 3 uchiha's with matured sharingans. He is more of the 1 vs 1 type
