well itachi made a big mistake if he planed to die at sasuke hands why did he give the Kotoamatsukami to naruto why not just do it the second he died then this whole sasuke thing would be over and he would be back to the leaf

He was hoping his brother would go back and make amends with Konoha by his own free will. Kotoamatsukami was the last resort to save Sasuke so he could be a good guy again. Hence why he gave it to Naruto because he knew he would fight Sasuke in the future
Because he knew tobi/madara(as he thought) will go after sasuke and so will kabuto also he thought his brother will not be gay and will follow his wishes
so as a contingency plan gave naruto the Kotoamatsukami so that it can make the gay sasuke straight again

It wasn't neccesary, If tobi didn't intervene, Everything would have went smoothly, Once sasuke defeated his brother, he would have went back to his village, and remade his clan.....Unfortunately Tobi fked shit up, but itachi planned for that, attempting to get rid of tobi via Amaterasu, and also Shishui's eyes...If Sasuke ever opposed Konoha and fought naruto, He'd change

was sasuke planing to go back to konoha after he killed itachi? i didnt ever see him planning to do that, also you really think danzo and the other elders would allow him to rebuild his clan? they would probably have him killed and sasuke wouldnt be able to face danzo, cause he wouldnt have all that hate and rage which fueled him to kill danzo

and why does it matter what danzo and the other think? its tsunade decision
He would have come home to konoha, pain would have invaded and Sasuke and Naruto would have beaten him together and that would probably be the end of everything lol
