Not at all unfortunately, Jiraiya had no knowledge of Itachi's true intentions within the Akatsuki. He too had been kept within the dark as it was the only ones to have known the truth were the elders of Konoha, Danzo, Hiruzen, Obito, and the audience.

i can see that awnsering a lot. like how jariya knew about Orochimar'us death/the leaders of akatsuki and why he did not get involved in the fight of sasuke vs itchai part1. also why itchai never wanted to fight orochimaru..the 3rd hokage did state itachi was a spy and only few(jiraiya) knew about it. so it would make sense also with Itachis death jiriaya did go for the leader knowing he would die. so itachi was protecting leaf and jiriaya was on a fallback with it. that would awnser a lot

No, Jiraiya no nothing about Itachi's mission. He even tried to trap both itachi and kisame inside the toads stomach but itachi used amaterasu to escape.

No one was his spy. he couldn't cast genjutsu on someone to make them spy on him. He sucks at genjutsu. He had remarkable sneakyness though. Made D-Rank techs into superb sneaky jutsu. Excellent peeper > Akatsuki defence

They could have interogated kisame to get intel and killed him afterwards. Then Itachi can go back by himself and tell the other akatsuki that kisame has been captured and had to leave him because he is outnumbered.
