you lose all credibility when you put kaguya was defeated by sasuke and team 7. please tell me what sasuke did in the fight of note other than applying the other seal. don't worry i'll wait. also, itachi has only been in a few fights in the entire manga that are worth anything. so yea, it's easier to be undefeated that way. he didn't really fight any of the top tier characters though.

Yeah, because protecting the entire team from falling into an eternal coma wasn't helpful. Nor was providing one half of the seals required to defeat her. Speedblitzing, ripping her arms off, devising plots to ensnare her, power up punching'ing her. None of that was as important as sealing the hoe because it was the only way she could be defeated. Sasuke knew that and thus focussed on the important details rather than trying to show off. He knew his role (to seal her) and he carried it off. Sasuke's cool nature played a huge part in sealing Kaguya, don't forget that. Naruto was acting impulsively and nearly ran out into the infinite Tsukiyomi.

There's a reason why Kishi couldn't put him on the same battlefield as Obito/Madara/Kaguya and that's because they'd all be in an eternal dream by now.

I think he would have never intentionally fought Obito or Madara or Pain knowing there's a decent likelyhood he'd lose.

Gai- He has a countermeasure for the sharingan's genjutsu, sure. But Itachi has a unique way of Genjutsu'ing people, finger genjutsu. If that fails, he probably has toe genjutsu too (he's wearing sandals and his toes are sticking out so it's possible). Anyway, Yata's mirror repels everything Gai does and once he starts to feel the effects of the gates Itachi finishes him off.

I get your point and I do respect what you're saying but I still think the first thing Gai would do is look at Itachi's feet and his toes would cast a genjutsu and neg Gai.

He only took hits from Kabuto to protect Sasuke. His little brother being there was more of a handicap since it greatly worried him and he got in the way at times, moreso than being a help. This doesn't really matter. People alluding to this after Itachi trolled him so badly and the fight went just as planned (and even the outcome with Kabuto becoming good again) are just grasping at straws. U_U
