After rewatching some old fights of all the "Smart people" in this series..

Man Itachi is still the true genius and extra talented shinobi in this series..

He broke down every opponent he ever faced and developed strategies INSTANTLY

True. One of my favorite fights is the one where he fodderized Kurenai and Kakashi in a heartbeat.

I guess the characters that come close are Tobirama and Kakashi. Itachi is still supreme, though.

However, in terms of overall knowledge Orochimaru takes it.

ot: There are different categories of intelligence. You don't just group characters in the same boat.

Inventing jutsu= Tobirama Senju
Knowledge of shinobi and jutsu abilities= Orochimaru
Wisdom/philosophy & life ideals= Itachi Uchiha
Strategy= Kakashi Hatake
Highest IQ= Shikaku Nara and Shikamaru Nara
and the list can continue on...

There's no possible way to have one character be the best genius at everything. However, Itachi was probably the most well-rounded (or at least in the top 3 as far as that goes). I give him that. U_U

The war was gonna happen without the Edo Tensei but Kabuto blackmailed Obito into an alliance with him.

Itachi, Minato, Kakashi and Hebi Sasuke are pretty damn smart in battle and have shown the best battle-smarts feats. I say Hebi Sasuke because I mean the one that fought against Deidara. This fight is imo the one with the most strategy. Sasuke was a beast in that one.

Databook confirmed that Itachi was fooling around with Chiyo, Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto. He had no intent on harming them and wasn't serious by any means. It was also one of Sasori's subordinates that was being controlled miles away.

Kakashi is the same man who wanted to have a staring contest in part one and as a result was knocked out unconscious by Tsukiyomi so Itachi could leave the scene. xD

Yes, but it would have been over long ago. Madara wouldn't have come back. It would have ended with Obito. Edo Tensei made the war more devastating.
