Care to respond to the content of my post, now that you've seized a purely semantic debate victory? Let me clarify: if, in the real world, someone was in the exact situation Itachi was in, then torturing Kakashi would be justified, unless you can think of another way out of the situation that meets those three conditions.
First of all, let me start by saying that
you are not a fanboy. You are arguing logically. Coming to my counter-arguments:
I am saying is that
a) I am not convinced that Kakashi could not have been disabled by Itachi without Tsukiyomi. Itachi >>>>>> Kakashi. He clearly used MS to show off his powers [and win some fan boys]
b) I am not convinced that a person without mental abnormalities can come up with the idea of stabbing someone for 72 hours. You have to understand this. The power of Tsukiyomi is to control space and time. Someone like Itachi has greater control than someone like Sasuke. Once a person is in Tsukiyomi, one need not be tortured.
For instance, Itachi could have trapped Kakashi in Tsukiyomi for 10 seconds, and then landed a blow on his neck or some other part, causing him to faint. There was no need of torturing.
Now, since you attempted to argue logically, I will tell you why I started this thread:
1) Kishimoto is a highly intelligent and creative person, but the story: Naruto is not without loopholes.
Although Kishi intended Itachi to be a "great human being", a closer look at Itachi' persona reveals that he has issues.
2) I don't like the fact that so many people love Itachi, despite the fact that he committed so many murders.
You can find ways to justify slaughter, just as one can justify actions of Osama Bin Laden, or the US government's policy of looking the other side when drones kill so many civilians in Pakistan everyday.
I never for a second doubt that Itachi as a character in Naruto was meant to be good. That's the way Kishi intended it. Nonetheless, Itachi is a highly dislikable and disgusting fellow. Long story short, Kishi is merely presenting the plot in a way to look Itachi's actions good. The same plot presented from another point of view, will make Itachi's action look horrible.
