And Itachi has his FTC(bustin into many crows when attacked and he can appear/transform a crow back into himself out of dozens of crows on the battlefield) that is as useful as FTG for an offensive attack.

Shunshin is a teleportation technique.
FTG is superior, that doesnt discredit Shunsin's ability to teleport.
And teleportation is basically instant, I dont see your "make it on time" point.

Both Minato and Itachi die. Itachi is more tactical and would have cut that loss (like he does) and put his efforts into protecting the village- which he'd actually do a very good job of offensively and strategically.

Minato manages to rescue the son but not the wife with above average damage to Konoha.
