I'm pretty sure Onooki said something about Itachi releasing the edo tensei along with the other hokages that was related to the fact that he was a hero. Probably most common folk after this war are going to think of Itachi as a hero as the truth will probably be revealed.

He learned to close up his emotions from ANBU training, he wasn't crazy. Itachi saved Konoha and later he helped save the ninja world. Isn't that something a hero would do?

Being an Anbu is not making you non-human... Kakashi, Yamato, and more all were Anbu and they still show emotions...

Itachi showed almost none.

Nice thread. Itachi was NO HERO in his eyes. Itachi killed his family and Clan no man kills his family a thinks he's a hero even if his deed was just. he killed his family to obtain a form of stability which didn't last any way he failed and died a loser and he knew that there would be no way in changing anything that was done by the Uchiha so he killed them all to bear the burden of their mistakes and bad decisions and left his little brother behind to clean up the mess of their people. He was a good ninja but not a hero more so a preventer of mistakes or catastrophes. But he was a good man at heart and soul
