In my opinion Itachi is Hero of his Village a hero for his Brother But he is not Hero of Uchiha Clan or World(Pleaz dont count Kabuto)....So he is Hero in Some terms....

He stopped the Uchiha from staging a coup d'etat. At a very young age he was said by Hashirama himself to have had the wiisdom of a hokage. Now if his actions make him a hero, that is up for debate. However, I personally believe that the lives he saved by doing the necessary things far outweigh the negatives. Yes, he slayed innocent citizens, does that make him a hero, maybe not? But he didn't do these things for himself, he constantly looked at the bigger picture. To some he won't go down as a hero, but all can understand the reasoning of his actions.

Not really, because Danzo could have found another way to help the village other than creating Root. Itachi did not really have much of a choice but to massacre his clan with Obito.
