Itachi gave naruto the power to control the kyuubi

Itachi obviously didnt like akatsuki or its goals as tobi has made them, and of course he purposefully managed to "lose" naruto in the original somehow with his power, sorry, jiraiyas great n' everything, but Jiraya vs kisame AND itachi, haha, no, hed have lost.

Itachi obviously doesnt want naruto to die or for akatsukis plans to take effect, itachi hates war etc, and we all know itachi stated uchiha madara could control the kyuubi.

Maybe itachi also gained the sharingan power to control the Kyuubi and transferred it into naruto so he can go fully 9 tails without the seal breaking and keep control of himself.

There are too many possibiblities on what Itachi could have given Naruto. I honnestly think it's something to counter the Sharingan. (Idk seal his eyes mabye) But I think Naruto will learn to control the Kyuubi with the scroll and some more training.
