Itachi did the world a favor by ridding it of a clan of deranged psychopaths.
Calling oppressed and discriminated citizens psychopathic because they rebelled against their corrupt government.
Itachi was simply too wise and strong to be affected by the curse of hatred. same cant be said for the rest of these retards.
Tobirama said there were many Uchiha like Itachi. 3-4.

itachi was way too nice to sasuke cause hes his brother. the idiot wanted to destroy konoha despite knowing itachi sacrificed everything to protect it.
Whose fault is that? Itachi was the who decided to shove hatred and vengenace down his throat for years. Making him susceptible to Orochimaru's influence. Which led to him severing his bonds. Leaving Konoha to pursue revenge. He already placed his clan above the village.
Yet 3 years later after fighting him to the death. He's supposed to automatically decide to protect the village that oppressed and discriminated his clan, leading to their goverment ordered genocide, just because Itachi wanted to? That's not logical nor realistic.
Attack the abuser not the victim.

itachi did the best possible thing, by genociding the clan he made sure there would not be another madara or obito wanting to destroy the village.
Then he created another in Sasuke and helped Obito collect Tailed Beast. Resulting in a catastrophic world war which nearly wiped out humanity. Very counter productive.
sasuke was gonna do the same but he left nardo in charge of taming that tard
Sasuke succeeded where Itachi failed.
- Defeating Orochimaru whom escaped from Itachi and continued his crimes for several more years. Most notably his operation to destroy Konoha where he lead two large armies to invade and destroy it. Resulting in many deaths including the Kazekage and Hokage.
- Defeating Deidara who Itachi recruited. Whom like Orochimaru nearly destroyed a village and killed a Kazekage. Both escaping capture for years.
- Killing Danzo whom schemed with Orochimaru in Konoha's destruction, and allowed Pain to destroy Konoha amongst other shady deeds.
- Defeating the Akatsuki during the war.
- Then he went on to protect from the shadows better than Itachi ever did.
and also had shisuis genjutsu in case he want apeshit but he had to use it on himself.
Yet no countermeasures against Danzo and the other elders. Whom Itachi wanted him to return to Konoha ignorant about. Despite his only protectors who knew the truth (Hurizen and Itachi) being dead. Wonder how fast Danzo would have killed Sasuke if he became a brainless Itachi fanboy and automatically decided to protect Konoha just because Itachi wanted too.
obito mixed many lies in there for manipulating, like the fact that the nine tails attacked on his own
if that dumbass sasuke actually knew the truth he would try to kill obito instead probably
Obito only lied about not being behind the Kyuubi attack. Sasuke already wanted to kill him for being involved in the massacre.

I'm not gonna say the Kage system is perfect, but the way you say it almost sounds like you think dictator Sasuke is a better option.
Sasuke's revolution plan was solid and proven to work in series.
- Uniting everyone through a common enemy was shown to work via the Akatsuki with the Five Great Shinobi Villages & Samurai. Plus during the warring states era Madara was said to have used his power to unite clans. Pages 10-11.

- Maintaining peace and order by being a God-like authoritive figure was shown to work via Pain with the Rain village. Kaguya was also stated to have subdued all lands.

- & Itachi protecting from the shadows by playing the role of villian, striking down those who obstructed peace, avoided civil war with the Uchiha against Konoha, and world war with other nations.
Sasuke learned from his predecessors & improved. Ultimately forming a better plan for peace than them. Whereas Hashirama and Naruto's plan of cooperation through friendship was proven to not work via Hashirama creating peace through the village system but things going sour after his death. Meanwhile, Sasuke had the capability/ambition to always be around to watch over the world.

Itachi accepted to massacre his own clan in order...to preserve its reputation.
It was definitely over when the Uchiha started to rebel themselves against Konoha.
There wasn't any solution to peacefully solve the problem. The Uchiha hatred against the village reached its peak.
The only solution was the massacre. And Itachi decided that he will be the one to do this mission. He preserved the nobility of his clan by killing himself all of them. It's a pure blood Uchiha who massacred the clan not the village.
Itachi accepted to be portrayed as a psycho man. In this manner, every citizen of Konoha ignore the shameful reality behind the massacre. Every citizens believe the Uchiha are poor and innocent people who had been massacred by a psycho serial killer, in this manner the clan still conserve its noble reputation, while in reality they had been massacred because it was a clan of traitors.
And Itachi was a patriot of Konoha. The village first, then the clan. If to protect the village, it is necessary to massacre a clan, then it has to be done.
Traitors against a corrupt village that oppressed and discrimated them. If anything Itachi's actions protected Konoha's reputation more than the Uchiha's.
The massacre was the only solution, even to kill children and women.
Imagine if Itachi just killed male shinobi Uchiha. What about women who lost their husband, children who lost their father, and old people who lost their son. Then the hatred inside the clan would be even greater. These orphans children will grow up with one idea, venge their clan. This happened for Sasuke.
Itachi was right. At the finale moment, just before the coup d'Etat, there wasn't any other solution than the massacre.
They could have detained the ones involved with the coup.
Killing them would result in hatred as you said. But detaining them wouldn't
Concerning Sasuke, I agree, it was a selfish decision from Itachi. The best option was to kill the whole clan, but even Itachi couldn't resist to his emotions and decided to let Sasuke alive.
The best option was to get Hurizen and Fugaku to meet so they could peacefully negotiate to resolve the matter. Itachi could have leaked info to both sides. Tell Hurizen of the planned rebellion and tell Fugaku of the planned massacre. This would have drove them to negotiation to avert the worst case scenario (civil war).
By the way, what are your thoughts on Sasuke wanting to destroy Konoha and his Revolution plan? Do you think it was both logical?
