Itachi compared to Jiraya or Minato or others is no HERO.

Itachi was the saviour for all the nations as he stopped a potential world war that Fugaku/Danzo would have caused, depending on who would have acted first. Itachi was a Hero, just as much as Minato and Jiraiya, just for something completely different. Minato ended an attack on the village, whereas Itachi prevented a war.

I'll have to disagree with you on this. He did a necessary sacrifice.
Besides him, look at other Uchihas. Full of hatred. They were going to cause war in their own home land just for the lust of power.
I'll agree with you that the mean was questionable, but we're talking about the most powerful clan along with the Senjus.
There were no Senju to keep them at bay so that could've transformed into a 3rd Shinobi World War. Others would've come and attack Konoha furthermore leading to it's downfall. How would that benefit Konoha? It wouldn't.

Not to mention, later on, thanks to him, Edo Tensei was stopped. He is a hero, no matter the sacrificed he'd made.

well guys u had to read itachi and hero in same sentence in my post at least.

no.. point is not that killing made him hero, set of circumtances just drove things to massacre and behind that is strong reasoning, for itachi at least if coup haven't taken place , itachi would be caring brother, wise older brother.. kind in same way like naruto could be sasuke's younger brother.

yeah, danzo had taken uchiha out anyway many fine shinobi would been lost in that case also even hiruzen agreed sasuke will die.. so to save him he had to give up everything that kind of commitment to do something for someone is something very touching.. his plan failed let's hope naruto's will not

I must strongly disagree. Itachi was intended and stated to be a hero, and looking closer at it he's nothing else.

Itachi assassinated his own clan to prevent a civil war inside Konoha, which would've eventually led to the village's downfall and probably even a new Shinobi war. Other village's could've easily invaded the weakened village that already has its hands full with restraining trouble among its own citizens. Itachi shouldered all of that burden on his own to relieve the village and preserve the Uchiha's name. By doing so, he also committed Tobi to stay away from the village as long as he was alive. Of course, the method was rough - that's out of question. But the Uchiha were a necessary sacrifice. Yet, Itachi himself felt that he had to be punished for what he did some day; that's one of the reasons he let Sasuke live, to killed by him and judged for his crimes one day. When he was revived, however, he had the chance to redeem his crimes himself; and he did so, by saving the world, and his village, once more. He stopped Kabuto's (Nagato's) attempt to capture the Jinchuuriki and released Edo Tensei, taking a huge burden from the allied forces and indirectly saving the Kage's lives.

Itachi never wanted himself to be considered a hero, yet he was a true one, one in the shadows; sacrificing everything he had for the sake of others. Sometimes, sacrifices are necessary, and every hero made mistakes. Is Hiruzen less of a hero because he doomed Shodaime's and Nidaime's souls to be suffering inside the Shinigami's stomach for all eternity? Is Tsunade less of a hero because she nearly killed Jiraiya once? Is Tobirama less of a hero because he invented Edo Tensei, the technique that would one day doom the Shinobi world and bring back Madara? The obvious answer is no.

You must be on something very harmful to your brain. That is the only explanation I can come up with.

The Uchiha were far from innocent, Danzo left Itachi only two options

Kill your clan while saving your brother and the village in the process
or
Allow your clan to rebel, watch them get slaughtered in civil war, and live with the death of your innocent little brother

Itachi shouldered alot of guilt for a 13, he was truly mature beyond his years and a hero

Itachi prevented a war from breaking out at the time and he sacrificed his own soul to do what he did. Just like fugaku said, " our pain would be will only be temporary, but you will go through hell." or something along this line. Also, Itachi was most likely the person who was leaking information about akatsuki out.

For me konoha had something like this headed towards them. For any to understand what I just said you have to know a little about the uchiha clan location and job occupation. The second hokage pushed them to the edge of the city in a section all by themselves. Technically you could say that their was konoha and its neighboring city the uchiha village. Then in order for the second hokage to keep eyes on the uchiha he made them handle police work. So in reality the second hokage is to blame for everything that has come to date. When the uchiha figured this out of course they would be pissed, they were suspected of planning the nine tails attack. Like Itachi said konoha is covered with darkness, in no way shape or form is konoha as nice as people make try to make it sound. But Itachi was willing to sacrifice everything for said village because he still considered himself a leaf ninja. So for me if the second hokage never tried to turn the uchiha into the senju dogs, then none of this would have happened.

Kishi needs to give us some back story on the second hokage.

Itachi just did like Batman... Guess he was no hero either..

Though I guess at some point they could probably have given a different explanation to the village and kept Itachi in Konoha thus avoiding Sasuke to be what he is now..

hmm remember that jiraiya helped wipe out the heat devil village which im sure had innocent people in it hiruzen did push for compromise but it didnt work so he agreed with danzo's plan so he is at fault to. Basically and its mainly trunks always him you just hate on itachi for choosing the lesser of two evils. even naruto after learning the truth realized it and why sasuke is all angry Like they say we sacrifice a few so many can live i don't agree with that but there it is.

After his Ressurection , we learned that everything he did was for the Sake of Sasuke and Konoha.
He stopped the Edo tensei too.
shisui stopped edo tensei. everything itachi did post escaping ET was shisuis manipulations. not itachi acting of his own free will. and he didnt stop edo tensei. he only stopped kimimaro and chiyo. the rest were sealed or already escaped like him (sasori, madara).
and no nothing he did was beneftiting sasuke and konoha. he sped up konohas destruction by doing nothing to save it and turned sasuke into konohas greatest threat

for itachi at least if coup haven't taken place , itachi would be caring brother, wise older brother
no hed still be a brutal sociopath trying to control every aspect of sasukes life

yeah, danzo had taken uchiha out anyway many fine shinobi would been lost in that case also even hiruzen agreed sasuke will die.. so to save him he had to give up everything that kind of commitment to do something for someone is something very touching..
so butchering women and children and shoving a sword in his mothers chest is heartwarming and touching?

I'll have to disagree with you on this. He did a necessary sacrifice.
Besides him, look at other Uchihas. Full of hatred. They were going to cause war in their own home land just for the lust of power.
wrong. they wanted their old honor and pride back, and to do that they wanted political power. for years they had been kept out of the running of the village they helped build and died by the hundreds for a government that could care less and even blamed them for the kyuubi attack. what war? when was there going to be a war? it was a coup ie a takeover. no declarations of war or independence were made. they could have just LET the uchihas take power and avoid any blood spilled at all.

Not to mention, later on, thanks to him, Edo Tensei was stopped. He is a hero, no matter the sacrificed he'd made.
thanks to him the entire world is in danger from sasuke and obito who itachi unleashed by helping them become stronger. thanks to shisuis genjutsu kimimaro and chiyo can rest in peace and thanks to itachis foolish overlooking of madara, madara will now kill everyone. and that my friend is on itachis head. nothing he did under KA is heroic because he had no free will and wasnt controlling his own actions. nothign he did period is heroic unless you think slaughtering a whole clan of people is heroic.

Why would they let the Uchiha take over? They were suspicious that it was an uchiha that had planned the whole nine-tails attack so that seems kind of stupid.
to aovid bloodshed. if they didnt let them then uchihas would try anyway, but with force.

Itachi assassinated his own clan to prevent a civil war inside Konoha, which would've eventually led to the village's downfall and probably even a new Shinobi war. Other
how do you know? all that is just as a result of a what if scenario. can you say with 100% certainty thats what would have happened? no you cannot. itachi leaped into it without properly considering other options to stop it. why would there be a civil war if they had just surrendered and let the uchihas rule them?

Other village's could've easily invaded the weakened village that already has its hands full with restraining trouble among its own citizens.
could? so a what if scenario thats likely not to happen as it didnt even happen after oros invasion or pain's, is your justification for killing kids and women? how are they goign to start a civil war? all one needs to do is kill the ringleaders like any sensible leader in real life would do. killing EVERYONE involved is brutal uncessary and removes the chance to interrogate them and find out if any were coerced or controlled into planning it. if it was part of a bigger plot they would never know because itachis response to his family was KILL EVERY SINGLE LIVING THING IN HIS PATH.

Itachi shouldered all of that burden on his own to relieve the village and preserve the Uchiha's name.
itachi commited mass genocide and slaughtered his own parents. he wasnt preserving anything by sullying his name and making himself a traitor. if the world didnt trust uchihas cos of madara then why wouldnt they expect them to be all just like itachi as well? two and now four evil uchihas counting obito doesnt shed a good light on the rest.
so what if he stopped a POTENTIAL war? the war still happened and he still butchered innocent people.

But the Uchiha were a necessary sacrifice
no such thing. theres murder and then theres not murder. itachi chose genocide instead of trying to save his family and village at the same time.
Itachi prevented a war from breaking out at the time and he sacrificed his own soul to do what he did.
making him pure evil. itachi slaughtered women children and old men just because of the THREAT of a POTENTIAL war. uchihas hadnt hurt anyone and we will never know if they were controlled or forced into it because itachi never left them alive and only killed the most powerful members. with intimidation tactics and threats they could have easily kept uchihas under control without resorting to killing every single one of them. what threat to national security did say, mikoto, pose? when have you heard of a rebellion against a powerful professional army by a bunch of women and boys?
itachi killed people to stop a potential rebellion. the problem is he killed WAY TOO MANY.

Yet, Itachi himself felt that he had to be punished for what he did some day; that's one of the reasons he let Sasuke live, to killed by him and judged for his crimes one day
no. he wants to die by sasukes hand to make sasuke stronger and give him MS, putting many more innocent people at risk because as we know sasuke was already evil, even then. if itachi loved and respected his village he would have turned himself in and confessed he killed the uchiha clan then accepted tsunades punishment. only tsunade had the authority to legitimately judge itachi. not his brat of a brother.

When he was revived, however, he had the chance to redeem his crimes himself
and did not do so.

"Self-sacrifice...a nameless shinobi who protects peace from within it's shadows. That is a TRUE shinobi"

The Uchiha were far from innocent
doesnt justify murdering every single one of them. konoha isnt innocent either. does that mean we should kill them all?

did so, by saving the world, and his village, once more. He stopped Kabuto's (Nagato's) attempt to capture the Jinchuuriki and released Edo Tensei, taking a huge burden from the allied forces and indirectly saving the Kage's lives.
that was all shisui. nothing itachi did there was something he chose to do. he simply switched out kabutos control for koto's. he indirectly got them killed in the first fukin place! he could control anything kabuto did. the best plan would be to RECALL ALL EDOS THEN make them vanish at his leisure.
he did not save the world. he and naruto and bee saved themselves in a combined effort and then he stopped kabuto, kimimaro and chiyo. WHO GIVES A SHIT. nothing naruto and bee couldnt have done when cleaning up the battlefield post-obitos defeat.

yet he was a true one, one in the shadows; sacrificing everything he had for the sake of others.
so what was he sacrificing when torturing and beating sasuke into a coma, and telling him to murder innocent people for power? what was he sacrificing when he helped akatsuki murder 7 people and did nothing to even send the least bit of useful intel back to the other nations? what was he sacrificing when torturing and ordering the attempted murder of kakashi? was kakashi another necessary death to further itachis cause of cowardly killing himself and making sure sasuke was unstoppable?

Danzo left Itachi only two options

Kill your clan while saving your brother and the village in the process
or
Allow your clan to rebel, watch them get slaughtered in civil war, and live with the death of your innocent little brother

Itachi shouldered alot of guilt for a 13, he was truly mature beyond his years and a hero
no he didnt. he left them with alot of options. but itachi was the one who fooled himself into thinking there were only two. so much for the great intelligent uchiha. itachi was a genocidal sociopath and never once acted heroic in his entire life. before the massacre he went on a maniacal rant about how the uchihas are pathetic (besides himself i guess). i wonder how shisui would feel about itachi saying "ive had enough of this pathetic clan" gee thats harsh. you called your mother and best friend pathetic...
itachi did not shoulder the guilt. if he felt truly sorry he wouldnt torture a 7 year old and beat him into a coma. if he felt truly sorry he wouldnt try to steal sasukes free will and enslave him for eternity. if he felt truly sorry he would have done everything possible to slow akatsuki down and save the 9 jinchuriki. whether its by warning them or killing the two akatsukis sent after them.

Itachi just did like Batman...
so batman mindraped children, tried to steal free will of 16 year olds, slaughtered an entire race of people, and helped betray everyone he ever worked for?

Basically and its mainly trunks always him you just hate on itachi for choosing the lesser of two evils. e
no. my problem isnt with the killing of the uchiha ringleaders. that should be done. the problem lies with the rest of the deaths. how they thought uchihas were a threat to powerful jounins and a kage with a crystal ball watching them, with only women, boys and old men is beyond me. absolutely beyond me. no real life general would do that. not even hitler killed every single general in his path and their whole families just because a couple of them planned to take him out.
my problem isnt with how hard his decision was. it lies with his decisions afterwards. he didnt dedicate the rest of his life to nobility and living like a robin hood-type bandit. taking down threats and helping out war orphans. instead he continued doing the same exact evil shit that konoha thought he just did and proved them correct. no matter how noble his intentions he still mindraped a 7 year old for no reason.
