Just as the title says. These two would be a dream match-up for many reasons. But really, those two guys couldn't defeat one another.
Both ninja are very smart and would take full advantage of all of their opponents weaknesses as well as cover their own. So this is exactly how that fight would play out. Itachi would be aware of Minato's FTG level 2, and to keep this from happening to him:
He'd simply use Susanoo who comes fully equip with Yata Mirror to boot, which takes away any chance of landing a hit on Itachi, which also takes away Minato's chances of defeating him.
Then Itachi would try to use Amaterasu, which ofcorse we know Minato is too fast for that.
Then Itachi would try to use Totsuka to just seal the yellow fly (err flash), but Minato's too fast to hit with that too.
Then Itachi would probably want to Tsukuyomi Minato's brains into mush, but Minato being the smart ninja he is would take full advantage of this:
Right panel. That thing is an eye sore. It's so big that it gives away Itachi's entire position without you even having to look at him. Minato would pick up on this, and just direct his attention to the giant chakra monster's face in order to keep track of Itachi without ever having to look at Itachi himself, which takes away his chances of being hit with Tsukuyomi, and thus taking away Itachi's chances of landing any attacks on Minato as well.
Ofcorse Itachi would keep his Susanoo active, because as soon as he releases it, Minato would just throw multiple kunai at him and use FTG level 2 to one-shot him before he could blink. So the fight would be nothing more than Minato running around like a chicken with his head cut off using FTG, and Itachi standing there in Susanoo like a Godlike statue. Nobody wins because nobody can land a hit on the other. Now some people like to say that Itachi will eventually die from low stamina (I've said this too lots of times) but the more you think about it, is it really a compliment to say that you beat someone simply because they tired? If that's the case then Itachi loses to himself, it's not Minato that killed him.
I know this thread is really pointless, and some of you will get mad that I even decided to post it. But with all the Minato vs Itachi wars that have re-sprouted lately, I just felt like being the first to admit that both of those guys are pretty much equal as far as a fight would go. I mean Itachi has more feats and hype than anyone, so in all honesty he probably is the stronger ninja between the two, but it really doesn't change the fact that if you look at this fight realistically, neither one of those guys would be able to touch the other. So there really isn't much to argue about. So I guess with that I end this thread and apologize to all the Itachi fans I've battled with across the base. I'm not saying you were right, just saying that your guy can't beat my guy, and my guy can't beat your guy, so let's leave it at that
