Ok, so everyone knows that Chuunin exams are held twice a year and they involve all the countries and all the hidden villages etc. Also as shown below, less than 10 people every 6 months are expected to become Chuunins.

With anko expecting less than 10 to pass the 2nd test.

For arguments sake lets say 10 people pass per 6 months. That means 20 a year, and if we assume the average ninja will work for 40 years. In all 800 chuunins will be available to all of the countries of Narutoverse at any one time. So where the f*ck do all these ninja come from.

80,000 Ninja. Is Kishi trying to say 79000 odd are Genin, 800 are Chuunin and a minuscule number of them are Jounin?
That can't be right otherwise people like Konohamaru would fight, or valuable chuunin like Shikamaru's mom wouldn't be left in Konoha. If this was true, the alliance couldn't afford to have Jounins like Shino's dad guard Naruto. And well, 79000 genin would instantly get foderised by any half decent edo tensei.

And even if we accept 79000 odd are genins, where do they come from? It was stated by Kakashi that only 9 people would become Genins after graduating the academy, and this is yearly. Say between the 5 nations, if we take 9 as an average, thats 45 genins a year and still only 1800 available at any one time (assuming the 40 year rule)

Yeah anyway my point is, Kishi effed up.

I'm interested to see other peoples take on this and see if there's anything im missing!

Sorry about any grammar issues.

They are not democracy like in the west, their government is still aristocrats representative monarchy.
Their system is not typically following will of the people.

Your trying to say that makes up for the missing 79000 people? Kages would have to promote 1-2 people per day then.

And even then, are they promoting citizens to genins? Because there aren't enough genins to be promoted.

well i do try, and the 5 main countries did participate in the exam, and they are the ones supplying 80000 ninja minus however many samurai there are.

Wow, never thought of it... How do you actually become a jonin? I mean, Shikamaru, Temari, Kankuro and Neji are suddenly jonins, must they do exams or something?

Kishi wrote Road to ninja, and apparently Jounins have to be recommended but this isn't canon. Also Shikamaru isn't a Jounin to my knowledge. But in the manga Jounin exams or what not haven't been mentioned.

Kishi probably spent time drawing as a kid instead of learning to use the abacus.

It's simple, kishi changed his mind on the number of ninja after the time skip, originally there seemed to only be a couple hundred ninja per village.

So your saying, they found 70000 odd rebels and other ninja, when the 5 great nations are supposed to be the powerhouses?

If that was true, why wern't the 5 great nations taken over by the little ones.
