I believe it is the government responsibility to ensure quality health care, affordable education and to provide for the sick and poor. What do you guys think? Shouldn't the government be able to cater to the low and middle income earners instead of the rich ceos and billionaires.

Yes I also believe that the government should provide for its people. Stuff like Health Insurance, education, housing,food need to be provided by the government so it won't result in an uproar.
I think it is fifty fifty since you should not be lazy and slack around expecting the government to take care of you, But then again You don't know other people's circumstances, maybe what they are doing is not enough to provide for themselves and maybe others.
I didn't mention any country nor head of state, but in regards to your question. The obama phone is actually part of the The lifeline program created in republican reagan administration to provide a means of communication for low income americans and people leaving in poverty. It is designed to help the poor. It is the government job to provide!
True. The wealth of the nation should be shared around and the government should and must provide for its people.
it'll never be perfect but I think the gov't should provide but there should be more enforcement on getting people to get jobs so they can provide for themselves. Like some of the benefits are way too good. What happens is the people that use the benefits don't try and make themselves more money; they soley depnd on the gov't.

This is on the whole incorrect. Look at the catastrophe happening in Greece right now. That was caused by failures in socialism. Now they can either take a bailout or go to full on communism. they chose the later.

Since the Government is funded and run by the people indirectly, one can not wash off the his own responsibilities ... Things need to be balanced both by the Government and the people, but the Government must never be seen as some Godly institution that is able to do anything and provide for all ... It always leads to complications.
