Rep +1. Can't stand these Hashirama hyping nincompoops, it's freakin annoying. The fact we ain't seen him do a thing yet still people say he's the best. Then his the heck did he die?

In my books Minato is and has always been the strongest Hokage. Until actually proven otherwise then it will remain this way. Naruto has surpassed him in power obviously but I don't think in terms of skill.

Yes he is the strongest anybody who thinks madara is stronger is not paying attention. the first defeated him while he was using the kurama. Now people talk about how strong he is in the fight against the kage. He is using harishimas power and is immortal on top of it. With out his undead body he would get killed by hashi. Maybe the third was stronger based purely on reputation as the strongest hokage and strongest at timeof death.

The question is wether hashi was the strongest ninja to ever live. Madara was not stronger than him when he was alive as he got beat. Current madara is not really alive.To compare the two is really stupid. If there was somebody who surpassed his power they are not alive today. All the kage cant even touch madara. Kurama and madara together have to be equal to a madara with rinnigan right. Yet hashi beat him. which means he is stronger than the five kage and all ninja alive since kage are the strongest ninja in their village. Hashi may not be stronger than madara today but that is only because he cannot be killed in actuality.

However, many shonibi's who came before him has surpassed or if not, at least equaled his power or reputation as Kabuto stated. For me, my list of the strongest are as follows:
