Ok, sensei. Think I got it. (BTW, why is Rasengan listed under both Fuuton and basic Ninjutsuu? Does that mean I get to choose which I use if I've been taught both?)

This is called Oodama Rasengan. Now, just simply, what may be the difference between this and the Rasengan you learned earlier?

Power and timing? Well obviously this bigger one is more powerful than the small version. I'd assume since there's more chakra involved it might take slightly longer to perform.

 

[Adachi]

Exacto. Didn't think you'd catch that. Because it takes longer to perform and is much bigger than Rasengan, use it wisely. Again, putting yourself in short range leaves you exposed and vulnerable to strong attacks.
To finish the Rasengan unit...
Begin by forming your Rasengan again, and then add another type of Chakra into it. Any element you want. But make sure both is easily controllable and DO NOT let your Rasengan get out of hand.

Forms Rasengan. Pushes Fire chakra through hand, slowly working it into the Rasengan. Reaffirms grip and watches as the flame whips through.

Alright, proceed to take that Fire Rasengan, keep steady control on it...and then slam it on a nearby tree, describing what happens.

Sure thing, sensei. Let's see what I can do with this.

Carefully walks over to a nearby tree, maintaining control of the wild inferno in my hand. Pulls back arm and slams it into the tree, creating a loud snapping and sizzling sound.

Hmm... examines the tree ...this one was a bit different. There is still the spiraling, drill-like marks, but it has charred the tree as well. It also went deeper than the normal Rasengan. And now...yup, it's catching fire.

Steps back and sniffs Mmm... smells like a campfire.

 

[Adachi]

Yes, yes. Along with the Rasengan's general drilling power, the effects of fire have also come into play, burning the tree while destroying it. Nicely done.
