[Theory] Is Zeref Natsu's father?

its obvious igneel isnt biologically natsu's father.

zeref has lived for hundreds of years in mostly isolation, and witnessed the rise and fall of several ages and families.
yet he takes a special interest in natsu and hopes he will be the one to take him down.
its not impossible. though it raises the question of who is the mother and why did they leave their son.

he told natsu when they met "you've grown" which is a fatherly thing to say. and cries when he thinks that him and natsu are gonna have to fight.

I really doubt it. Zeref is a Dark Mage, and I doubt Natsu is a person who would be the son of a guy like him.

No, I think Zeref stalked Natsu back then when he was with Igneel. Natsu lived a life, which Zeref could never have. So he jealous and want Natsu to kill him.
