I was rewatching the end of Punk Hazard/start of Dressrosa and I thought of something.

Doffy writes a fake paper announcing his withdraw from the shichibukai and we accredited his ability to do it through connection to the WG over the Navy. We then learn about his past as a tenryubito. But his father left that status as well so they weren't that anymore and I thought when Doffy went back to them they turned him away.

If they did turn him away when he tried to get his family's title back then how did he make the worldwide newspaper with the fake announcement? Am I misremembering and the tenryubito let him back in?

Didn't the WG have to accept his reinstallement because he knew about the National Treasure?
He could uncover their secrets and he was to powerfull to take down or atleast it would take alot of effort

So he did get back his status then?
Not exactly. Atleast not officially known to the public I think. But as u see he still had the influence to arrange for stuff behind the backs.
Simply put if a situation arose the WG had no choice really to back him up cause he knows to many dangerous stuff

DD was originally a Celestial Dragon, but his father gave up that position for his entire family and they never got it back. However they did know a lot of the secrets of the Celestial Dragons, so they were a potential threat for the latter. DD even said at one point that they sent assassins to eliminate him, but he was simply too strong. So the Celestial Dragons had no other option than striking a deal with DD as he was an entity way too dangerous to ignore, but they couldn't get rid of him. Just before the time skip DD even said that he would end the agreement if it doesn't benefit him anymore.

What Cali said. The Tenryuubito can't kill Doffy, so they have no choice but to give in to his blackmail.
Then what about Fujitora? He said to Doffy 'I will take care of u later'. After he finished dealing with the SH-Law situation.
That's not really giving in to his blackmail. Unless he is acting completely on his own , which is doubtfull , so maybe he is following order from Akainu who has the same standpoint as Fujitora concerning Shishibukai. But wouldn't that make them go in against the WG orders of leaving Doffy alone..

You have to realize that the Tenryuubito aren't in charge of the Marines or anything like that, they aren't their leaders, they just have special privileges. The Tenryuubito can go ¨Okay, we aren't gonna do anything to Doffy¨, but that has nothing to do with how the Marines or the WG choose to deal with Doflamingo.

The WG never ordered to leave Doffy alone, hence why he needed a Shichibukai title in the first place. Doffy can blackmail the Tenryuubito, and what Doffy wants requires the WG to do some action, the deal can go ¨Tenryuubito, use your influence and privilege to ask the WG to do this for me, or I'll expose the treasure and the rest of your secrets.¨
